I prefer this to ejecting the SD/XQD card and transferring them that way, as doing so means utilizing the mechanism that physically ejects the card and puts wear and tear on that critical slot. As to the cable, it works as described for the use I put forth above. I only wish there was a slightly longer variant available (6' or 10').
