Wanted a faster more efficient way to cook. Love the unit and it comes with a perfectly sized pot with cover and a pan just the right size for so many items. I use my induction cooktop every day instead of my old coil top which took so long to boil water. Now I place a pot of water on the induction top and it begins to heat immediately. My cooking time is cut drastically. The top surface is easy to keep clean and I know that I am saving a lot of energy when I use it. It heats the pot and not the air around it like my old coil unit so it keeps the kitchen much cooler. And it comes with a small flat magnet that you can bring with you to check any new pots that you may want to buy. Most of my old pots and pans worked so I didn't need to invest in any new ones. I could see people taking this unit out to their porches or decks along side their grills or on the road with them if they travel in campers, etc. And it has a timer built in which I use all of the time. Once it is set and your time is up it actually turns off the cooking unit. What a fantastic idea and so useful.

Unit failed on the 3rd use. Don't waste your time or money

The fan is so noisy when turn on, return it right away. Other brand name is so quiet.

Works as stated, good value. One minor detail not clear in the description is when used for temperature setting the temperature it is set to is not show in the digital readout. The temperature is shown with led lights from 1 to 10 and you have to look up the actual temperature it is set to in the manual. Some other brands (at a much higher cost) show the temperature setting on the digital readout. I anticipate using this with a pressure cooker so once the correct setting is found I don't think this would be a big problem. Great value with the included pans.

We travel in a motor home and use an electric burner rather than the gas cook top. This induction cooker heats up so much faster than the coils on the "hot plate". It not only saves time, but cuts down on the cost of electricity. It cooks quickly and evenly. Because of it's speed, just watch the pot closely the first time you use it.

This is so Cool! I bought this while I remodeled my kitchen. I have a old style hot plate, but wanted to try induction cooking. This is FAR better than I had read. I can heat a can of soup in much less time than a microwave and frying is far more controlled than on a traditional electric burner. Plus, this cooktop looks very stylish. I have had two contractors assume that this temporary solution was to be built into my kitchen. Maybe it should be!

This is my third induction cooktop. I love the look and the functionality. However the unit is very under powered. Most induction cooktops are 1800 Watts, the most power possible with a standard 120volt outlet with a 15Amp circuit. I use cast iron to cook, as it dissipates the heat better across the surface and isn't easily damaged. However it does take a significant amount of power to heat it up. I noticed this stove top took much longer to heat up than my previous ones. I used a Kill-a--Watt meter to measure the power it was drawing. At the highest setting it only drew about 1150 Watts in the power mode. Less in the temperature mode. So in spite of its nice looks , I'm afraid it'll be going back. IF you just want an induction cooker for a hot plate this is fine. However it's induction capabilities are limited by it's power. You might as well get a normal hot plate, so you can use any type of cookware.

I read other reviews before purchasing this induction cooker and so far it is worth the money. I couldn't find any induction cooker as thin as this brand. And this store brand Insignia from Best Buy is something I normally don't associate with quality. Hence I'm literally amazed by the sleek design and quality of the material. It's thin enough to pack in the luggage for long trips or carry with you in he car for outdoor excursions.
