Fast USB3 extensions.

This allowed me to extend USB3 connections to the top of the case and allows me to quickly add and remove fast USB3 backup drives or other fast external storage such as media drives. The external power is mainly CYA in case the sum of the attached USB devices draw more power than the internal motherboard / power supply were really designed for (I don't trust HP wasn't frugal with the hardware).

Very cool, well built hub

It comes with its own power supply but of course can be used without it when no power is available. One thing that I thought was unusual was the 3 foot cable that came with it is military grade. Big thumbs up! It's well worth the money I paid for it and if I needed another one, I'd buy this one again, without hesitation. I hope that this helps you in making a decision, PeaCe!

Excellent little powered USB hub

This is a sleek little box with good speed for a good price.

Most laptops only come with 2 usb port's so it’s nice being able to connect extra peripherals using this hub. Also, it’s powered so if you need to charge something, you can.

Great Power Hub!

I really like this product. I highly recommend it if you need addictional ports.

It is very compact and can acomodate 4 devices at one time. Price was very reasonable and works perfectly for what i wanted.

It's solid, works well and comes with a long cord so your hub doesn't have to be 2 inches from your computer. Would buy again.

Does what it says it will

I would give it 5 stars were it not for the fact that it causes powered products (like external hard drives) to spin up regardless of if the computer is on. Nothing a bit of port management can't deal with, but a small point of detraction nonetheless.
