    I needed it for my android auto, the cord I had before was a 2.5 and I needed a 3 , I was told this was a 5. This a certain power amount that goes through the for a better connection with android auto. When using my gps it would shut down, it would disappear , I was told to get a usb that was a 3. So far using this usb cord I haven't had any issues.
