great tv for the price, plus its 1080P. I do have a sound bar on it, but not sure it's really needed. I had it so I just hooked it up. Also I do not have cable on this. I do have an indoor antenna, plus a Roku streaming stick+. I primarily use the Roku stick. Pictures are good and clear. It turns on sound bar automatically like it should. Easy assembly just for the feet.

Have bought Insignia TVs before & never problems. So the Guest bedroom needed a new TV & i ordered the 32" online. it was Ready to pickup in-store within the hour! We arrived & after seeing the in-store TV displays, my Husband decided we should 'Go Bigger' & get the 40" screen. Also IN STOCK that day. Glad we did. Great picture, easy setup & very affordable (worth the few extra dollars). Thank you Best Buy.

I bought this as a special Best Buy Online customer deal for like $129. It was listed in-store for around $179, which is why I couldn't find it. It was also tucked away in that section where they have the TVs in boxes and it is hard to see which TV costs what. I had to find it using the Product ID. And then I had to tell the guy the online price, and he said that was fine, and that I did not have to order it online to get the deal. It was funny too because the discount didn't come until the receipt came out. As for the TV, it works fine. 40" is not as big as it sounds, and I must have had a 50+ TV before because this one is significantly smaller, but it is good enough for the price. The picture is great for the price, and the sound was WAY better than my previous TV that cost me almost triple the price and I could barely hear it when a loud car or truck would pass by. If I had known, I wouldn't have bought the sound bar and speaker for $150 which was more than the TV. I considered the sound bar an investment for the future when I buy a real TV, hopefully a QLED. The remote works great and I don't need to do yoga to have the remote hit the sensor, which was another thing the old TV always had problems with. The old TV also broke down after a year or two, and I didn't buy it through Best Buy so it might be useless unless I see if someone wants it so they can fix a bad fuse or something for like $10.

It’s a tv, it does what it’s supposed to do, looks great, love the size, the sale price was absolutely fantastic. The only thing I could have wished for was an led backlight strip, but I knew it didn’t have one when I made my purchase. If you catch this on sale, go for it. When you set up this tv, you should use the Turn Off Loud Noises setting, or whatever it’s called, so that you can better hear dialog.

This was by far the best value 40+ inch TV I could find. I didn't need a smart TV for what I'm using it for and its perfect. The picture is great for 1080. This is my 3rd Insignia TV over the past ten years or so. They've always been reliable for many years for me and am expecting the same out of this. I have nothing negative to say about it.

I love this TV. Picture Quality is fine. Price is excellent. And minimum features is good for me. One things I don’t like is power lamp. It takes few seconds to turn on after push power button.

I'm very pleased with my 40 inch Insignia tv. The picture is crisp and clear and has very nice color resolution. The setup was amazingly easy and gives you the option of voice promps upon setup. It does not have roku or smart technology but you can add a roku or fire stick if you want. At 149.00 you can't beat it.

Great TV for the price and size. Purchased this for a parent whose old TV quit working. Went to Best Buy and had read and heard good things about Insignia so we decided to purchase this one. It is perfect for their needs. Would definitely recommend Best Buy and this TV to others. Perfect size, not too big and not too small, and has a great picture.

Would have given 5 stars but find the audio lacking. I bought this model because I like my first Insignia 39", purchased in 2012, and still going strong. However, in comparison to older one, the volume & sound quality is not great. Both TV's have Roku (no cable). On new model volume is usually at 19-24, compared to 8-12 on older one. Quality & clarity of sound is not great & there isn't a discernible difference between the audio options, ie. standard, music, news. Picture quality is good.

Took advantage of the open box deal to upgrade the tv in my bedroom. Got a great deal, super easy to set up, was able to connect everything I was using before, & beautiful picture. Didn’t need a smart tv because I use a Chromecast to stream. Perfect for me.

I bought this to replace an older 32" tv that I had brought to my basement to hang up but sat around for a while and got scratches across the screen that damaged it. This was a huge difference as the older LCD weighed more than this and it was smaller!! I'm impressed by its performance and the fact that I have no issues with it receiving channels, the Roku, or anything else I plug into it.

Great TV put it on my wall mounted. I love it I didn't no it had built in antenna where I can get local channels from others tv in my area for free if they have antenna. Channels are clear and voice box is good quailty. And also I can watch my movie channel from my Chromecast. Get sale get buy for the price love it. Up grade from 32 inch to 40 inch.

I got a great deal on this TV after upgrading from a 15 year old smart TV. It was really easy to install. I have a Roku and it was super easy to install. The picture quality is clear and the sound is great. I love this TV.

I didn't know what to expect from an Insignia branded television. I was pleasantly surprised. The 40" tv works great as well as being a good value for the price. It's not a 'smart' tv but with an external media player, I have what I need. I have one criticism. The input labeling is seriously deficient.

Using this TV as a larger monitor for my PC system and it is great. Standard desktop apps run well on this monitor with no lag and excellent resolution at 1920x1080 and can't wait to run a few games across it to see if it will hold up to the higher powered video graphics card at higher resolutions.
