You can't buy a 4k TV that doesn't have smart options, as far as I know. I'm using this with another TV to watch more than one sporting event at a time. The TV performs as expected. The tv is basic but has different picture modes. Normal mode doesn't seem to need any adjustment. When using other modes, you might have to make adjustments. It performs about the same as my 9-year-old Samsung 1080p TV. This TV is completely fine as a secondary TV in a bedroom, garage, or kitchen. In hindsight, I should have bought the 43-inch. Keep that in mind when shopping.

Only time will tell how it holds up but I'm pretty confident in the Insignia brand, I've had quite a few of these BB in house branded items and so far, knock on wood- they have stood the test of time and use! I do wish the remote wasn't so bulky...

I chose this due to the 40" size, 1080p HD resolution, and the 5000:1 contrast ratio. Also, I picked it up on sale for $140, so the price was hard to beat. I've had it a week and so far it looks great.
