    Good picture, lots of problems

First of all, it has a pretty good picture, not great, but good. But it goes downhill from there. The first problem is that you cannot just turn it on and watch TV, as far as I can tell, this cannot be done. You have to “hunt and peck” for anything. This has confounded everyone from the salesman at Best Buy, to the elderly, to visitors, to the children. Even the Millenials, who seem to have the least amount of problems with figuring it out, have to work through it. Why? The second problem is very similar, and that is the menus. Endless, pointless menus! You have to wear out the remote control, moving around, looking around, and making selections. It is insane – the organization is nuts! You cannot turn it on Live Broadcast Channel 9 or Cable Channel 247, or whatever because Alexa has no clue what you are talking about and there are NO numbers on the remote! It is such a pain to watch whatever it is showing on TV at the moment. Example, Spongebob was on, and I wanted to turn it on and could not find it – was not on the menu. So I asked Alexa to find it, and it did. It found it in three places, so I had to go through each one until I found the one that was currently showing – are you kidding me? The third problem is worse. Apps, apps, apps, endless, pointless apps. Literally apps within apps within apps. No standardization. Want to find a particular show? You have to know where it is, and you have to navigate through the menu, you know, the one that makes no sense. It is like a maze! Alexa helps very little and once you find your show, Alexa is going to more-than-likely show you the one that needs yet ANOTHER App to watch the show! I am not kidding. The fourth problem is that it is anti-cable and anti-broadcast TV. It is designed this way NO PURPOSE. Do you have Xfinity? There is no app for that! The TV loses where the cable TV is and it cannot tell the difference between broadcast TV and Pluto TV. Want to watch the local news? Good luck finding any channel. There is a TV button with little antennas, you push it, easy right? The channels are not listed, instead it shows you what it wants to show you. There are too many channels and it is kind of nice to go to the History channel instead of channel 3441, but how do you know that your favorite History channel show is on? Alexa might help if you want to list 14 of your favorite shows and ask which one of those are on at the moment, but you are lucky if Alexa gets even one of them right. The fifth problem is Alexa. Alexa is your best bet on finding what you want, however, it rarely understands what you want, even if it gets what you just said perfectly correct, no matter how you say it. It is literally like talking to a senile elderly person and it is loud! For example, just try to get it to turn on the Weather channel. It wants to tell you the weather, but it just will not turn on the Weather channel, nor will it find or turn on the local weather or news. It might give you 14 weather selections and the Weather channel might be among them, but if you want to watch it, you have hunt it down, select it only to find that you have to download an app. What?! Never mind it is on local broadcast channel 5 or on cable channel 38 at the moment. The same thing is true for just about everything! The sixth problem are the remote control buttons. Not only are there no numbers so you cannot override the insane, maliciously out-of-control menus, but the “how can you possibly get it wrong” buttons are a real pain as well. Want to watch Amazon Prime? Push the Amazon Prime button. Now you get yet another menu, similar to, but always different from, all the other apps. So you are stuck endless hunting through the weird, nonsensical categories forever. If you are lucky, you will find something that you can tolerate to watch, so you select it, but no, you can’t watch it. You have to subscribe to yet another service. Amazon Prime is littered with endless services that you have to purchase first. Want to watch 10 different shows? You might have to subscribe to 10 different services first, each costing who knows per month. Then good luck on finding what you want to watch, Alexa has no clue to select the one you are subscribed to. Try selecting the Netflix button and you will see the exact same shows that you were not interested in watching years ago show up. Not only that, but they seem to show up in every other category, over and over and over. Heaven forbid you started to watch a show that you decided was horrible, it will be listed in your face FOREVER. Netflix will assume you loved it so much that it will give you horrid selections just like that show you could not stand to watch. Furthermore, all menus seem to have this same problem: classic, awesome tv shows and movies listed next to the most rotten garbage as if they were the same thing. Amazon Prime is especially bad at this. Does it have a 1.2 rating on IMDB? No problem, Amazon Prime gives it a 5 star rating! There are no real filters, so Ben-Hur, the Ten Commandments, or anything with Charlton Heston is listed right next to Bubble Guppies or Death Wish. Hey, it’s all the same thing, right? Good luck on finding the classical movie, you are just as likely to get the animates cartoon version.

I purchased the 43' inch yesterday for my sibling to replace a broken Samsung 40' inch. 8-9 years ago I bought the 55-inch Insignia LCD. The best TV I ever purchased and it still runs like a champ. So, I figured this 43 inch was a no brainer. Pros: Good picture. Great audio volume even at a very low number. Cons: Tv design is extremely flawed. The TV is completely dependant on the remote for volume control, smart tv features, and settings. The only two things you are able to do without the remote is power off and select inputs that is it! *Remote stopped working not 14 hours later after purchase making the TV practically useless. Customer service troubleshooting is a joke. There is basically no fix for it and your options are... they can send you a new one (10-12 business days no expedited) or return the entire TV set for exchange/refund. Additional comments: My older 55 inch Insignia is a beast it also has volume/channel control, input toggle, power on/off, menu/settings on the tv panel itself. Which makes sense in case your remote stops working or you lose it. This 43' inch is an moronic design. Why would you make a television co-dependant on a remote of all things that could break or be lost? It makes the television useless. TV manufacturers need to stop combining smart features within the TV functioning. It causes more problems. Their design was amazing years ago, but now it's junk. I will package this garbage back up and return it. I will not be purchasing insignia again until their designs change.

Here we go! I was on shopping of a new TV and i was trying to upgrade to bigger TV since i sold my 22” Westinghouse 1080p & 32” Vizio 1080p TV. I was thinking of getting a smart TV or just a regular 1080p TV since i have a Roku device to use. And I don’t want to spend too much $$$ to a newer TV so i found this Insignia 43” smart and give it a try ‘coz i used to have a Insignia brand way back and it last me for almost 9-10yrs if I remember. So bought this Insignia 43” and it perfectly fits in my room but by the time i installed it and hook up all those cable and set up the firestick, the weird thing is that when i am watching a movie im trying to make the sound loud since i have the sound bar hook up. The movie i am watching was going fast forward when i pressing my sound bar remote. So i pause the movie with the Firestick remote and control the volume again with the sound bar remote, we’ll it happens again the movie going past forward. I was like what the heck is happening with my brand new TV?. So the next day morning when I am trying to watch a movie again my TV won’t turn on, so i pressed the Firestick TV again but i failed. Wait for 5mins and no luck. So i manually pressed the button under the TV and it turn on, but the apps on the screen got freezed for no reason. I got disappointed with this TV and returned it that same day Jan 01, 2019 and i just bought this last Dec 31, 2018. Not even 24hrs i had this TV. Idk if its the Firestick that cause of it or maybe the TV itself. So i change this to another brand with the same size and lil’ bit cheaper

Bought the 55 inch smart tv, worked great for about a year. Started going blank screen or just bars across the screen. Kept having to do factory reset to get it to work. Finally stopped after a few months. Then we bought a 50 inch for the bedroom, same tv and now after about a year they both randomly lost Wi-Fi connection. Tried doing a factory reset and still doesn't even pick up any networks, even though my router is working fine, had spectrum verify. After a few days they will reconnect. Of course they are out warrenty. Really wished we bought a different brand, online search reveals many issues with Wi-Fi connection with insignia smart tv's. Do some research before buying, but after buying two and having these problems, we junked them got samsauge and have not had a problem yet! Knock on wood

TV works great and it has a good speed to it. My issue is that the TV itself really doesn't seem to function other than in an Amazon fire stick mode. I have multiple smart TV's and really don't like this one due to that fact. My other TV's allow me to download other Apps like Spectrum TV app when this one will not let you do that and it is the same for all Amazon Fire products. You would be totally better off buying either a regular smart TV (love my Samsung) or a Roku version as they allow you to get more for your buck.

Below average quality for a Best Buy product. I returned the product because it had to be restarted frequently. Great customer service from Best Buy during the return process. They allowed me to exchange it for a different brand which I am very pleased with.

I was disappointed with the color and brightness of the picture when I first turned on. After several adjustments to the color, tint, contrast and brightness I was able to get an acceptable picture, You shouldn't have to make so many adjustments right out of the box.

With a 4K UHD TV with HDR I was expecting the picture to be a lot sharper and more life like. It definitely does not even compare to the 4K Samsung I own.
