Good crisp 1080p overall, but the only button on the TV itself is power. You can't adjust volume or change the input without the remote control.

Poor design. When switching inputs, tv develops horrible snow, no sound. Have to turn tv on and off multiple times to be able to watch tv. When playing on xbox have to turn sound way up to hear it, and when you switch back to watch tv sound is extremely loud. Sound while watching tv cuts in and out every 20 seconds or so for about 1-3 seconds. Its not a hdmi cable issue, I have very expensive cables, and the problem is only on the hdmi 1 input. Xbox one on hdmi 2 and roku on hdmi 3 have no issues. But when I put xbox or roku on hdmi 1, I get the sound cutting out issue.

This is the third Insignia TV I have purchased over the years and They have all been outstanding. The picture rivals much more expensive models, and the sound is very good. The place where they cut corners are in the features and inputs / outputs. But for a basic TV the value is hard to beat.

All I needed was a flat screen monitor, with few bells and whistles. This TV was perfect for the application. My only issue (so far) is the lack of side connections...I have it mounted flush on the wall, and had to pull it back off to get the connections made properly. Other than that, and the usual learning curve with having to set it up using menus that often were frustrating, no problems.

Purchased this Insignia to replace a Toshiba 39" which gave out after only a few years old. The picture was blinking out every few seconds while the audio remained. The picture and sound on the Insignia are excellent and set up was easy. This model is not a smart TV. Wasn't interested with having an internet connection or streaming for this TV room. Which made this 43" Insignia TV reasonably priced for the intended usage. Would recommend this basic TV for great viewing and sound that carries, when all you require is a simple go to entertainment area.

Overall the unit was not bad for the price, however I dont have $200 to toss into the shredder every few years. I refuse to be a willing victim of planned obsolescence which is present in virtually everything you can purchase today. The last set I bought lasted 10 years and I still have it, and use it without the remote control. The screen, back-light, and power supply on this unit should last 7 to 10 years too, but a remote control will last 2 to 3 years, either from the poor quality (but expensive) leaky batteries destroying it, misplacement, or the lack of it being manufactured anymore. WARNING This TV has no external power button or input source control on the case itself. It REQUIRES the remote control to operate it. The only power/source button is on the remote control. It was promptly returned for that reason.
