This was my first Insignia product from Best Buy, so I was apprehensive, wondering if the quality would be acceptable. After one week, I am very impressed with the picture and overall performance. I didn't want a "smart TV" for this application, but did want 1080P in order to use my Amazon Fire TV Stick, so this one fit my requirements exactly. Setup was easy, with just a few tweaks to the picture settings to achieve the color and contrast I like. The only feature I wish it had is that the remote had separate buttons for HDMI and TV, as I often switch back & forth between the Fire TV Stick on HDMI and the OTA antenna. This remote requires selecting: "Input - up/down arrow - Enter" to make the change, which makes 3 button presses, not a big deal unless the room is dark, requiring a light to see the buttons.

SUPER Sale Price. Excellent picture -- sharp and clear. Excellent color - especially flesh-tones . Menu and setup were super easy to read, understand and navigate. (Chose manual rather than auto-setup.) Sound is pretty good but may still add a soundbar. Previously purchased 28" model for kitchen, and that along with older purchases (many years ago) of made me trust and go with this Insignia brand. Only reason I can't give 5-stars is the way the remote's "info" button operates. The display is clear and sharp (white letters on black background) BUT only displays the current program info. Can't scroll forward to display upcoming program descriptions like I can on some other (and more expensive) brands. I miss this feature. (Same problem with 28" purchased.) I knew it would be the same issue with this one, but simply couldn't pass up the super-excellent sale price. I have a small living room so this 43" size is just right. Replaces old, heavy 32" "tube" model. Did a lot of research about size to replace it. Actually got pieces of cardboard and cut them to size for 39", 40" and this 43" models based on dimensions provided in Best Buy product descriptions. (Did this to better estimate the best screen size and how they would fit in the location.) Then zeroed in on the 43" model. Then waited for best price on sale.

I bought this for a friend in the Nursing Home. Maintenance mounted it on the wall and hooked the cable up. The tv is easy to operate, large enough for both my friend and her roommate to watch. Color is great ! Would definitely recommend, and the price was very affordable.

So far, so good. Nice that its lightweight if your using a mount system. This actually has better sound than a lot of the lower budget tv's on the market. This only ran me %20 of the price than my old 42" I replaced and has a better picture. A big selling point is Best Buy's amazingly fast free shipping. This is a great deal if your not looking for really high end features. Energy consumption is a fraction of what my old set used and it runs much cooler. I also noticed a speed increase in my Chromecast device compared to my old one. My last set was a well known brand and so far if this tv lasts a fair amount of time then it totally beats that other manufacturer. One reason I didn't give 5 stars is that there isn't decent controls on the unit itself so I guess if I misplace the remote it could be a hassle.

My mother in law was waiting a larger tv for her den. Instead of fighting the Black Friday crowd we just purchased it prior. It is an excellent value for the price. Great picture and easy to set up.

I have 6 Insignia TV's, ranging in size from 19"-55". I have had good luck with all of them, and feel they offer a decent quality product for not a lot of money. All TVs need tweaking of the default color and audio settings out of the box. This TV has an excellent picture once set up. It's sharp, bright, color is good, and HD looks great on it. The speakers aren't the best, a little tinny- but *all* flat screen TVs have issues with sound. Go into the audio settings, turn the treble down and the bass up and it will sound somewhat better. Or better yet, use a soundbar or hook it up to your audio system. I was a little upset that the set does not have RCA audio out jacks, as I needed to hook up the transmitter for my wireless headphones. What I didn't realize, was that I could just hook up the transmitter to the TV headphone/audio out port. You can control the TV speakers to be on or off, regardless of whether you have headphones plugged in or not. So no RCA jacks needed. Voila, wireless headphones work great, and I can turn the speakers on for hubby with a simple click of the remote. Headphone jacks have been disappearing from devices lately, and I think it's great Insignia not only still has them on their TVs, but lets you control the speakers independently. Insignia TVs also support CEC- which is "Consumer Electronic Control". This allows your TV remote to control other devices hooked up to it that also support that feature. Every TV I have has a FireTV stick, and a Raspberry Pi attached to it. I can use the TV remote for all. So if you've ever wondered why your TV remote has Play, Pause, Stop, Fast Forward, etc- it's so it can work with attached devices that support CEC. On the Insignia sets, they call it "INLINK", and it's disabled by default. You have to go into the settings menu to enable it. All in all, I have been very satisfied with this TV, and all the other Insignia TVs I have. They really are a good product for the money.

I was skeptical about this TV due to some of the negative reviews, but I’m glad I didn’t listen to them. This TV has a great picture and decent sound. The colors are truly bright and the black is a nice dark warm black that a lot of higher end TVs don’t have. With three HDMI ports and the RCA inputs, this was exactly what I was looking for. I only wish it had another RCA input, but after all, it is 2018. The only other issue I had (minor to say the least) wa that the HDMI ports are a bit too close together. I wasn’t able to connect my firestick next to any other HDMI plug. I ended up just getting a smart HDMI splitter and problem solved. The reason I went for this brand was not only for the price, but because I got fed up with two of my Samsung TVs dying on me within 5 years. I figure if I get five years out of this one, I will be ahead of the game. They just don’t make them like they used to. But in the mean time, I am an Insignia fan so far.

I had a "MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU" party and had friends over. We watched 3 Star Wars movies on my Insignia 26" tv. After the party it was decided that we were going to keep watching the rest of the Star Wars movies on weekends everybody had off. SO, I wanted a bigger tv. I decided not to go with a 4K TV because 99% of my 1000+ movie and tv shows collection is on standard DVDs. With the other 1% on Blu-Ray. This tv is exactly the same in every way as my 26" model that I've had for several years. All the same inputs and outputs. I even like the remote better on this one as several buttons glow in the dark making VOLUME adjustments easier to handle. The price was unbeatable. I also looked at the same brand in 50", but the sale price was better on the 43", the extra money only offered me a few more inches and dollar for dollar this model was the better deal. I do not have cable, I only watch movies on my ipod, dvd, and blu-ray players (my blu-ray is SMART and is wired to the internet for streaming). I use bluetooth Bose headphones (plugged into the headphone jack) for all my listening when I'm alone, and I use a soundbar plugged right in my blu-ray player when I have friends or family over to watch. This TVs sound is fine for everyday listening. Since I have had no problems with my 26" Insignia, I had no reservations about buying this 43" model.

I went to purchase a different tv but the sales rep changed my mind. He introduced me to the Insignia TV, same size lower price. Only problem is that I wanted a Roku TV and this was not. However, for about $10.00 more, I did purchase the Roku to add to the tv and I think I did better doing it this way than having the Roku on the TV. Pros: large screen, picture very clear, nice volume - do not have to turn it all the way up to hear it, easy to add my DVD player as well as my satellite TV. Cons: have to use 2 separate remotes, one for the TV and one for the satellite, would like to just use one remote. I would definitely recommend.

Have had this TV for a little over 5yrs now and I have had not one problem. Picture is still as clear as the day I bought it and it’s moved around with me a lot! I will and have definitely recommended this brand to everyone and any one looking for a good tv at a fair price. My next TVs will for sure be of the insignia brand. Most bang for your buck by far compared to many TV brands out there.

Purchased this Insignia 43" TV on 5/24/18 for $200 at BB to replace a 3 year-old Samsung that suddenly went belly up. So far, so good. Set up is easy, picture is sharp, volume clear (though occasionally too low with certain movies), remote and menu easy to use. The one caveat in this recommendation is that I've only owned the TV for less than 2 months.

So after having Watched Blu Rays of Tron Legacy, Harley Davidson and Marlboro man, Rambo, Spider-man Homecoming, OTA TV mixture of 480i, 720p and 1080i broadcast, and playing Nintendo Switch Games. I can say I am 100% satisfied with the picture quality of this set. Witnessed 0 blurring of OTA sports, No blurring in Switch Games like Fast RMX or Mario Kart 8, I would say well defined detail of 1080p Blu Ray represented here. I would say the Speakers are fine for use, however I do use a set of PC speakers from the Headphone jack to deliver the sound... (make sure to securely insert the jack from the Speaker/headphone into the 3.5mm jack otherwise you will just get left audio and thing something is amiss) as it does take just a hair more pressure for full insertion than typically required by a phone or pc or I was just very tender with it being a new tv I didn't want to mess up. I even have a friend who has now bought the exact same model of tv and happy with it, as well another friend who bought a 4k insignia brand tv who is happy. So if it last , then insignia bestbuy could be the best no frills quality product.

Love the tv, the picture is great and its easy to setup. My only thing would be with the legs. Its not specified that leg 1 goes on the left side and 2 on the right. If you dont put them on the correct sides, they'll be loose.

I wanted to replace an old 1080p tv, and they are getting hard to find in the wake of the 4K revolution. I didn't want to buy all new 4K peripherals, so I went to Best Buy to look at new ones in person. I liked the looks of this one, but there was an LG whose picture I liked slightly better. When I came back to buy a week later, though, the Insignia (which was already $30 cheaper) had gone down another $50 (for a price of $179 as of now)! And that's unbeatable. So you've got LED backlight, a super-light chassis (great for mounting, and easy to lift out of the box using the bag handles, even for one person), 3 HDMI inputs, optical and headphone jack sound outputs, and an above-average picture. Super-fast set-up, too. If you're unhappy with the picture, be aware that the default is energy-saving mode. If you hit the Menu button on the remote, you can make the picture brighter with more vivid colors, plus up the sharpness. At this pricepoint, I think this set is unbeatable by any other 1080p tv at this screen size.

Easy set up. Great color and sound. My only issue was the stand. I thought it would have a center stand mount but it has brackets on both sides so you really have to have a table or stand that will accommodate the brackets from end to end which would be 36 inches. Otherwise, very happy with it.
