I bought this portable A/C when we had the heat wave here in socal. And It holded up great against the heat, it kept the room cool. The noise level is low on this a/c.

easy to install and cools a huge space and has 3 different controls I told family and friends about this item

Good unit while it's on, blows out cold air, but Soon as I turn it off, the room gets hot as if I never had it on. 10,000 btu is not good enough even for a small room.

It's loud and doesn't drain into tank it now leaks all over my floor but works great cooling it is level and float is not broken

Would have it on all day and room will feel warm as soon as I turn it off. Would not recommend or purchase again. Looks pretty tho

Had to return this item because is made the small bedroom hotter because of all the heat coming from the exhaust vent hose.

I was only looking to get a new AC when I bought this, but when I got it home, I was pleasantly surprised to notice that aside from being able to Cool, and obviously run as a Fan, it can also be used as a Dehumidifier. Setup was easy, and with the type of windows in my building it stays in place without needing to screw it into the windows frames, which is great... It keeps it portable. Plus, it's got washable filters across the entire back intake, and everything works flawlessly from the Remote, without having to get up and go over to the unit itself. I love it, it was a fantastic purchase.

I had a portable AC before so I'm already used to the loud noise they make when in use (not unbearably loud). I wasn't used to the water leaking from the vents however, I noticed it only happened on extremely hot days. Initially the piece for the window didn't fit so I had to cut it down a bit. It's easy to clean & draining the water is easy as well. Love this unit.

I needed this so badly. Finally me room is nice and cool during the summer! Lots of cool features and adjustments. Can get a little loud but is to be expected I guess.

LOVE THIS!! It works great! Its a simple setup. And the power to cool the room down is superb. I would definitely buy this again as a gift for a loved one.

I like to use it in my living room but you need to have somewhere for the condensate to go so it's kind of a pain to have to empty it all the time. It does cool my 300 sqft room pretty well.

It's a great portable air conditoner that cooled my small living room fairly quickly however is such a pain to empty out the water tank. After about 30-40 min is starts to beep and shuts off until you empty out the water which is awkward (just a plug in the back) and it doesn't come with a hose to syphon it out. I'm not sure what to do as I live in a 5 floor walk up and the thought of returning it sounds like a hassle. I'm really annoyed...

I bought this unit to cool one of the rooms on the second floor of my house. I chose the portable AC because my HOA does not allow window units. If your HOA allows window units, get one, they are much more efficient than these portable ACs. The cooling power is just okay (not comparable to a 10k BTU/hr window unit), the compressor runs a lot cooling my 250 sq. ft. area even though it's rated for 450. $350 is way too much for this AC. This Insignia doesn't have easy to remove washable filters like other units. The listing says it does have washable filters, but as far as I can tell you have to take off the entire back of the unit to clean it. It also doesn't come with any window insulation like other ACs so there will be gaps around the window sash where the exhaust hose attaches. Window AC units can drain condensation outside, whereas portable ACs like this Insignia cannot. It's not a big deal in dry climates like here in Colorado, but it can be an issue if you live somewhere humid. I have another portable AC that I've had for a couple years and I've never had to drain it. Overall, I can't recommend this unit unless it were a fair bit cheaper.

My husband and I bought two of these in anticipation of a hot Portland summer. We have a modest townhouse and bought one unit for upstairs and one for downstairs. Neither one of them can get the house to cool below 82 DEGREES!!!!! We are so hugely disappointed. We read the reviews. We had previously owned the window units and were expecting for these to work much better considering the difference in cost. We are so unimpressed and returning both units. Do not buy these! They are glorified (and expensive) fans!
