Old power supply blew out when circuit breaker popped. I used to know when the computer was on by the sound it made. Sales rep agreed that this Insignia 450-watt power supply would not only safely replace the 300-watt that had been in my desktop computer, but that it would make it run more quiet than before. The sales rep was right. I need to check the light or the monitor screen just to confirm it is on now. What a great power supply to use as a replacement.

I bought this power supply to put into an old tower case and it fit and installed flawlessly. It is quiet and has all the standard variety of power cable connectors that you would need for use with a modern PC. Has been reliable for me so far.

As I was building a gaming PC with my son, I realized that the power supply in my older machine didn't have a PCI-E power cable. I searched online and was pleasantly surprised to see that even though my local Best Buy didn't carry this power supply, the one about 30 minutes away did. I ordered it and picked it up the same day. It was effortless to install and has been working great ever since.
It's a great power supply, especially for the money.

The adapability to fit two of the main motherboard pin connectors out there as well as over a dozen extra components and two four pin auxiliary motherboard connectors. It runs pretty quietly and mounts easily.

A power supply unit on an old machine, from 2011, started rattling. After smacking the side of the machine, it stopped. Few weeks later, the sound returned. Opened case, cleaned out dust, sound gone. Few days later, sounds returned.
I figured I needed the most basic power supply unit to replace the 250 Watt max in the case. This was the cheapest option, in stock. I got $10 off by getting the returned item.
This is not a fancy supply. Not modular (duh), not high end, just what I want for my basic box.
Only regret was that the price went down during Black Friday weekend, and Best Buy refused to price match during that period.

I bought this to put together a server with old parts. I have an i5 3570k underclocked to 3GHz with turbo boost disabled and using integrated graphics. It gets the job done and doesn’t make noise.
It’s not modular but was easy enough to separate the needed wires and tie the rest in the bottom of the hard drive cage. Can’t say that about every PSU I’ve used in this price range.
The box mentions something about gaming...please do not consider this psu for a real build. Notice how I am using it with a 7 year old CPU and motherboard combo lying around for a rainy day build.
Long term I do not know what to expect from this thing. If it lasts a couple of years I will be more than satisfied.

One of the PC towers was beginning to produce some bearing noise in the power supply, so it needed replaced. This one was a good price, had all needed power leads (and a lot more), and is silent. By swapping out the leads one by one with the old power supply in place, and then swapping out the housing and tying back the excess leads, I was able to complete the swap error-free in about 10 minutes and be back up and running.

I bought this to get one of my gaming computers going to make sure my last psu did not blow my system up when it fried. It actually worked beyond my expectation. Now I don't have a super high end system but it keeps up on the latest games. . . And VR :). With the Vive running and my 1060 6gig power housing the i5 6600k on the SLI PRO motherboard, it powers along and doesn't break a sweat. I am really surprised honestly.

I bought one of these power supplies a while back to replace a failing lower wattage unit in a small system. Immediately I was surprised at just how heavy the unit is overall. It's really well built and seems to be a great performer. With the 120mm cooling fan it's whisper quiet too. I'd definitely recommend this power supply if you're not running any high-end graphics cards. I'd look towards something with more wattage if you are.

PC Power Supply for New Build or Replacement

My Dad's PC was having issues so decided to replace the motherboard but the old power supply didn't have the right outputs for the new motherboard so bought this one. It's working fine. It was a clearance item at the local Best Buy store so it was an inexpensive upgrade. It has plenty of power for a basic PC but it's not one that you would want to use in a high-end gaming computer. It is quiet enough. No complaints.

My old power supply need rebuilt. It needs capacitors so I decided to get a new one. This is really solid and heavy. The fan is quiet. Lots of connectors. Very impressed. I have bought cheap power supplies like under $20 and they are not worth it. You don't need a super expensive one either. Lots of copper in there and heat sinks to keep it cool.

For a basic PSU this fit the bill perfectly when I had multiple PSUs die in a short period (lost one in a home server, my HTPC, AND my backup PSU in the same week!). I was planning on pulling this one back out of the HTPC and keeping it for a backup but it was quiet enough that I just left it in there. Glad Best Buy keeps things like this in stock.

I was a little worried getting an Insignia PSU, but we were in a pinch and it was work related. No worry was needed. This is a great quality product for the price. Industry standard 80 Plus feature set, perfect for a new build or part swap. Can handle most any basic PC setup with or without a middle of the road GPU.

Good reliable psu. It worked wonders in a junker gaming pc i built out of spare parts. It looks ugly and has poor cable management. I had to ziptie wires coming off of the same connector together since there is no sleving. It tangles very easy But for the price its a good trustworthy product. It feels slightly cheap also.

The power supply was easy to install to replace the completely dead power supply that had originally came with the PC. There were plenty of connections for the devices (CD, HD, Motherboard) with plenty of slack. When it started up and was very quiet and the computer was back up and running.
