I recently sold my house and down sized to an apartment. I needed more freezer storage than my apartment refrigerator provided. Perfect size for my apartment. Just the right amount of additional storage that I needed. It’s quiet and interior lamp came as a surprise and a big help. It is light weight and easy to maneuver around with it’s adjustable level feet.

Compact size that has capacity to hold hundreds of pounds of food. Below freezing temperatures, Below zero. see picture. Quiet. Good investment and makes it possible to stock up on sale items.

This chest freezer is just what I was looking for my apartment. It not only is the perfect size but it fits everything I needed. It truly exceeded my expectations and not only that, it was at a great price as well. It works very well and I love the addition of the inside light, not alot of freezers have that. Overall it was a great purchase and I recomend it for anyone looking for a good chest freezer.

I like the fact that this freezer is garage ready which means it can operate efficiently in ambient temperatures between zero degrees and 110 degrees which is excellent because I put mine on my porch. It's compact size is a real space saving freezer and it only needs 6 inches around it.im surprised at how much you can put in it.perfect for two people. I ordered this about four days ago and it's already OOO. Showed up at the store a day early and I had selected "Curbside Delivery". Clicked a couple of buttons and it was wheeled out to my truck within five minutes of arrival. They loaded it up for me and I didn't have to lift a finger. The freezer itself is small and that's exactly what I wanted. I had a small place to shoehorn this thing into my garage and it fit great. From the time I picked it up, drove home, unboxed it, plugged it to the time it satisfied at the near maximum cooling setting was about 57 minutes. It cools great and is super quiet. I mean like you can barely hear it running. I like the LED light on the lid which makes it much easier to see inside. I'm sure right now many of us are buying this due to COVID-19 to provide a bit more long term storage without the risk of auto-defrost / freezer burn. I've been wanting a small freezer for a few years and this was the final reason I needed to pick one up. Very pleased with the BestBuy experience and the freezer thus far.

In light of preparing for the current COVID-19 outbreak , we picked up this unit to store the few extra items that wouldn’t fit in our regular fridge. The unit is small , quite and fits well in a small designated area of our home. Lots of space and can fit much more than we anticipated, for a typical size American home it was well worth the purchase price, invest the $50 USD / 3 year extended warranty plan offered and a food saver vacuum sealer system. It will both preserve the quality of your food and extend the amount of time you can store your purchases. Hope this review helps other families in our communities and nation.

Before I placed the order, I was skeptical about the quality, performance because Insignia, aka Best Buy's own brand, may not be as good other well-known brand. I eventually bought it because of pandemic, not many choices would be available. To my surprise, it's way better than expected. It's quite, efficient. I place it in my garage, just set the temp control to "3 O'clock" . It does it job. And I like the LED, very useful. Didn't find other brands have such feature. I attached photos here to show the temp from the top rack and deep inside.

First time for a separate freezer, and had a hard time finding one. Sold out everywhere. The 3.5 cu.ft. model probably would have been ok for the 2 of us, but for $40 more we get more storage AND a light inside. In these times we wanted to have more things stored. Got lucky while on Best Buy site and this one popped up. Snagged it before sold out again. Picked it up (undamaged) and put in the house by ourselves (not very heavy). Let it rest for a couple of hours before plugging it in. Plugged in, turned it on, and set dial a little past 1/2 way. Went to 0 degrees F in about an hour. It runs very quiet. The basket is great and we use vacuum sealer bags for some things to extend storage life and avoid freezer burn. It is manual defrost. Auto defrost freezers cost hundreds more. The price for this size freezer is way less than others, and most don’t have a light. We also purchased the Geek Squad 3 year additional coverage. Wanted the replacement and $300 food loss coverage just in case it fails. So far, couldn’t be happier. Just hope it will last. Btw, 0 degrees F or below is best freezer temp (FDA). If your freezer can’t do that even at Max, then something is wrong.

I've been wanting a freezer for some time now and this one has more than enough space to store food for a small family! Pretty lightweight when empty and works like a charm, was ready to hold frozen foods within maybe an hour or two of being plugged in! The light is also super helpful. Might be my favorite large appliance!

I guess I was clueless that there was a fad called pandemic freezer, but, when I was looking for one, they were nearly all out of stock for months. Best Buy had this highly-rated, reasonably-priced, just-the-right-sized freezer available for curbside pickup at my local Best Buy in just a couple of days! I got detailed, straightforward instructions about how to pick the freezer up at the store. The employees were very prompt, courteous, and careful, even though it was raining when I arrived. I never even had to get out of my car! The box was easy to maneuver when I got it home, and it protected the new freezer perfectly. I had gotten a clothes washer drip pan beforehand (because I was putting the freezer on a hardwood floor) and set the freezer on it. It fit nicely and didn’t even need to be leveled. I waited 24 hours to turn it on because it had to be laid on its side on the way home from Best Buy (this delay lets the refrigerant re-settle to be properly compressed). I set the temperature adjustment to just past medium on the dial, and it got down to -10 F in just an hour or so, so I put it back to medium, and checked later, and it was -4 F, exactly the temperature I wanted it to be. The freezer is quiet, all the seals fit well and snug, The basket is thoughtfully designed and movable (there's room to add one like it if you want), and the LED light is very functional. One thing I suggest is that you wipe down the interior with a damp cloth or paper towel before you use the freezer, as there was some manufacturing residue on the inside. Let it dry before you turn the freezer on. Very happy with my purchase!

Great find and good quality after initial purchase. Keeps food very well and has a temperature gauge. Is very quiet too. It will be a little noisy at first but only until it gets to the right temp. Ergonomic, holds quite a bit of food. Just be careful not to tip. Keep upright at all times. I did curbside pickup and the Best Buy employee was going to try to lay it down.

I was reluctant to buy a 5cu ft freezer thinking too small. Was surprised to see how much frozen items I can load in this mini freezer. It is not frostless but it does not build up ice on the sides of freezer. I tried to put packages against the walls to prevent ice from building up and it worked. Gets super cold, I had to turn thermostat towards min. I hardly hear it running,means less power cost. Had it for a month now and still no ice build up. Very happy with this freezer. Definitely recommending this mini freezer.

Great purchase for the price my whole family loves it and holds quite bit of frozen food great for bulk shopping and having room in the refrigerator freezer and not having to worry about storage space and not having to worry about having something that could fall out because now we mainly use the chest freezer to store our food items and use the freezer from the fridge to store food that we will be cooking within the next day or two we love it but we might have to upgrade to a bigger one here soon because we usually keep it full and now were running out of space for our food items but I highly recommend it to everyone who hates having to have limited space in the fridge freezer it gets really annoying sometimes that you only have a small space on the fridge to store food or whatever it is that you want in the freezer we love it and really recommend it to anyone who wants a little bit more space for their food items thank you so much for this great chest freezer will be getting a upgrade for a bigger one here soon

Perfect size for my apartment. I placed my freezer in my kitchen. No noises, no leaks. It holds a lot of items. I like the two storage racks for vegetables or etc.

The Insignia 5.0 cu ft chest freezer is a perfect size for the 2 of us. I wasn't sure about not getting a national brand but this one was much cheaper and had plenty of good reviews. We used curbside pickup, brought it home and plugged it in. It was cool enough for food in just a few hours. I was very pleased with the perfect condition - no scratches or dents. We have used it about a month and it works great. We put a small digital thermometer inside to monitor the temp and it stays constant within a degree. It is just a perfect size because the freezer part of our refrigerator just wasn't quite big enough. It runs so quietly you can hardly hear it. I would recommend this freezer.

I compared several 5–7 cu. ft. chest freezers and found that motor size matters more than the stated capacity. Insignia uses the same 5.9 cc compressor in both its 5 cu. ft. and 7 cu. ft. models, so the 5 cu. ft. unit performs just as well—making it the smarter buy. By contrast, the Frigidaire 5 cu. ft. chest freezer has a 4 cc compressor, and Danny’s is 4.5 cc—both noticeably weaker. The Insignia freezes faster, and I boosted reliability by adding a small 800 RPM Arctic fan at the back to ventilate and cool the compressor area. 120 by 120mm fan by Arctic is silent and you can hear any thing. Last recommendation is take it from store because the shipping pay is weak on all models and brands and you will end defective sing on body. Open in store before taking. Most of them dented because of weak packing and bad handling. Good luck!

It's small but compact. The light on the door is a nice feature, allowing you to see what's inside. Even if you set the refrigeration performance to medium, everything will freeze. If you set it to low, you can drink alcohol or other drinks that have formed ice.
