It has a small, blue LED light on the bottom right corner to let you know it's running. It doesn't bother me since I have it in my garage, but might be an eye sore if you store it indoors and grabs your attention.

It does not take up space, we have ours in the balcony out back and still have plenty of room to get by.

The installation was easy as it's light enough to move by 1-2 people. The basket is great to keep certain items separate and the light is helpful as well.
