1st one dents all over it. 2nd big dents on it. 3rd one had broken trim on the lid.

A piece of crap, mine went out in a year and a half and I loss 200.00 dollars worth of food, I'll never buy another insignia again. They wouldn't compensate me if it was under a year

When we got the product and opened it from the box dents already on the middle top. Disappointed

After reading all of the reviews and seeing a lot of concerns with how the product would look (dents, damage etc) I was skeptical about this purchase. The unit was flawless! No dents anywhere! I have it inside and in an apartment, so size was important. Perfect size. Since I am in an apartment, the provided fridge /freezer is what you would expect-apartment size. I bought a 4-leg expandable stand with a rubber lipped mat from Amazon so the unit would not sit directly on the carpet. Very quite unit, can't hear it run. Very quick to reach operating temp and really does not use a lot of electricity. Great purchase thus far.

great small floor freezer, and gives me much needed extra storage. very quiet, seems well insulated and top lid seals appear tight. I have no quick signs of frosting up around top seal. I am have placed this in my basement.

Picked this up last night from Best Buy, unpackaged and plugged in. This morning went to the basement and checked it out. Very silent operation (almost no compressor noise or vibration) and perfectly cold temps. Feels very well made and solid -- and easy enough for two adults to carry without trouble --if not a little difficult to get down the stairs. Transferred some goods from the main kitchen freezer and ordered some more frozen goods for additional food security in uncertain economic times. The unit has a blue light in lower right, a simple "min to max" control knob and a VERY helpful light integrated into the lid. Hopefully this will take us through the next few years with no trouble.

It's been running great at about half capacity since install. I did not have any of the issues with the temperature control knob that some others listed, which leads me to believe they were cases of potential shipping damage. With that said, I needed a chest freezer for my basement just to hold wild game meats myself and the SO harvest, mainly Venison and Fish. This freezer fit the bill perfectly, it's nice and light, so carrying it to the basement by the box straps was a breeze. It seems to be insulated rather well because I hardly ever hear the compressor run, though that could be compounded by the fact that when it does run, I can HARDLY hear it. I cant hear it from my adjacent office, so anyone wanting a quiet freezer to fit a small space should strongly consider this option from Insignia. What really sold me on this unit was a combination of good reviews and an even better price point. At under $200 you cant go wrong for a freezer that runs this efficiently and quietly. I've had zero issues with ice buildup, and it comes with a convenient little scraper for the event that you would in maybe a more humid climate. The freezer maintains temperatures well and I've had no issues with freezer burn/frost buildup on foods. Would definitely recommend this unit.

We bought this chest freezer to place in our kitchen, as we like to stock up on meats when we see a good sale, and our fridge/freezer was so packed that items fell out whenever we opened it! This was a perfect size for our apartment kitchen, and after seeing it in store we just had to take it home! We love that the chest is tall enough that the lid can be used for prep space while making meals, providing enough depth that we are able to store enough meat to feed a small army, while still not so deep that we can't reach the bottom. The "shelf" on the right side, for lack of a better term, works to give us a place to put older items while we put our newer items at the bottom, or we can store liquor bottles upright--our choice! The basket is handy to keep regularly used items in, while being up high enough to allow for storage underneath! If we had to find ANYTHING to complain about, we would like a second basket. I have checked the internet, and to get the official "replacement" basket is not expensive, but shipping costs more than the price of the basket, so we're skipping that route. Otherwise, no problems, no leaks, no noises, no issues with cooling, just a sturdy, steady appliance!

Perfect size for our needs. Doesn’t take too much room. It was light-weight, too. I’m a smaller frame women and I was able to lift it out of my car and into the garage without too much trouble. It is actually a lot quieter than expected, we anticipated it to be really noisy for its’ price. Love that it has a light on the inside cover, as it make seeing things on the bottom of the freezer easier. We tested the temperature with a thermometer and it maintained safe frozen food temperatures.

This freezer is ideal for us. It is exceptionally quiet while running and keeps things very cold. It’s compact in size, taking up very little room. Doesn’t use much electricity, thus it is very energy efficient. Definitely a gem of a product.

Just got home and unboxed and had severe dents in bottom front of unit. Haven't plugged it in yet but very disappointed.

This is perfect for excess or overflow. We find it best for large items like whole turkey, or ham or items to make bone broth which makes the kids freak out if they open main and see.. I will not sing for me being vertically challenged but will let known it is deep in main area for someone 5’4” or under.. bonus for me the light that comes on when lid is lifted.. again that’s a far way down for me

First off, kudos to Best Buy for making this such an easy purchase. Pick up curbside, their very nice employee loaded it and we were gone in less than 5 minutes. The freezer is pretty compact and fits in places many others would not. We placed it in our garage for now and the temperature out there runs from about 50 degrees in winter to about 90 degrees in summer, well within the range for this unit. It cooled down very quickly (book says let it run for four hours I believe but we were at -10 in about two hours) We were amazed to get several hundred pounds of frozen food in easily. We did have mostly pre-frozen products so it didn't have to work hard to maintain that temperature. This freezer has a light so when you open the lid it's easy to see your food. What a great plus, as most this size have no light. As far as electric consumption, we see no difference since we plugged this in. We do have solar power but this still runs in non-producing hours. Heck, at $26 a year that's only $2.17 a month in any case. Two minor points that could be improved; first is the power light on the control is not very bright. I would like to see it a bit brighter for ease of viewing. Second there are no leveling feet so make sure it's on a level surface before plugging in. All in all a solid 5 star buy and a true Best Buy!!!

Love it. Great little deep freezer for the price! It runs quiet, doesn't take up too much space. And it has plenty of space and has a neat LED to make it much easier to search for things inside the freezer. All in all for the price, i personally think it was a awesome deal.

The seep freezer itself is a great product. Just enough space that my family and I need. I lovr the light inside because we use it at night often snd there is no need to burn an extra light to see what you need inside. Love that i can control the temp vs 1 set temp. The delivery was amazing as well Delivery was ontime and i am on the 4th floor with no elevator and they kindly carried it up the stairs to deliver it at my door with no complaints.

I was looking online at other places, including Amazon and everyone kept talking about how their freezers were arriving dented, etc. and the most positive reviews I saw were on this one. Since I live about 20 minutes from a store, I ordered it online and picked it up. Sideways it fit perfectly in the back of my SUV. Brought home and did the baking soda water cleanse and gave it 24 hours to settle with the Freon & started putting stuff in the next day. It’s in an open carport/garage so on the hot days it gets really hot, but this is made for being outside of the house (insulation ) which was a huge selling point for me besides the reviews. Plus it looks like this does not frost up as much and need cleaning, ice chipping, etc. like some of the other brands people are saying but it does come with the tool in case you need it. One review said that they do it about once a year which is great! I love the interior light! I showed my neighbor who had to go get one that same day, but she considered the slightly smaller one without a light. What it is is there’s a deeper section next to a shelf type area And it’s just it changes the depth, not the size of the freezer and she didn’t know if she needed that much room. I said it’s not that much more and you get a light for $30 more and I bet you will want to store more than you thought you did . She and I both agree that It’s one of the best purchases we’ve ever made! Couldn’t be happier!

I love this freezer, I am so happy with it. I was worried that at 5 cubic feet (second smallest sold at BB) it wouldn't be enough for my family of 5 but it is deceptively roomy. I have wanted a freezer for some time but Covid-19 made finding one next to impossible. Finally my persistence paid off and I found this gem at BB. I should add too that whilst it has a very roomy interior, it doesn't take up a lot of space in my garage. I followed instructions to let it sit up right for at least 24 hours before plugging it in after bringing it home on it's side in the back of my SUV. When I did plug it in, I left it at the factory setting and it was ice cold almost immediately. And perk of perks, it has an interior light!

Insignia 5.0 Cu. Ft. Garage Ready Chest Freezer is an excellent choice for small family. Light weight, quiet and a neat piece of appliance. LED light is also super helpful.It has been almost 2 months we purchased and it is woring efficiently.
