It is on the recommended setting and it definitely freezes. Our refrigerator is old. Everything gets freezer burn. So I purchased this on sale. It was easy to set up, besides getting the plug out. The instructions do not tell you how to get it out. Had to watch a video. Which all you do is force the door open on the back. It takes a little work and force to do this. Other than that, love this freezer. The size is perfect.

I was not really sure how big it would be inside, but it is much larger than I'd expected. It definitely fits everything I need, a large turkey, frozen pizzas, entrees, casseroles, etc. The price was great and I'm very satisfied!

We live in a RV and although we have a full size fridge/ freezer, we needed just a bit more space for the sales...and let’s face it, ice cream! Holds temperature very well and doesn’t run a lot. 3.5 cubic ft, was just a bit too small

Ft.) and the smaller Insignia (3.5 Cu. Ft.), and glad we purchased the bigger one. This thing was big enough to fit everything we needed it to, runs quiet, and we love the internal light on the lid when you open it!

Small footprint, within my budget, more cubic feet than I thought I wanted (but boy was I wrong and happy with the 5.0), and a great little freezer! Also, it's the same brand (Insignia) as my flat-screen tv, so I knew I was getting a quality appliance.

I love the size - it holds a lot, but only takes up a little space. I have a digital thermometer that can be remotely read and this thing quickly dropped to 0 and stayed there. Very consistent - it only varies a degree or two.

It does have an interior light which is cool sometimes. Gives me just enough room that I can shop for groceries and keep basics like vegetables on hand. Great little freezer so far

Was a must buy with the pandemic going on and needed to stock up on groceries. Been searching for one since March and finally found one.
