Great TV, Supports HDR & AC Wireless

I paid $299.00 for this in the sale. For the money it's one of my best purchases ever. The wireless supports AC, which provided you have a wireless N (AC) compatible router will give you wireless operation speeds and minimal buffering for streaming as fast as (lan) plugged in. The picture and sound are great and the tv does support HDR, despite it not being advertised in the specs. Look at some HDR demo's on Youtube and see the difference. Very few shortfalls on this tv, the volume and mute controls on the side of the remote are a little annoying and you cannot type in channel numbers as has no numeric keypad. These are minor grumbles. Even at the price it is now you will not beat this tv for value for money, especially for the HDR

    Excellent TV for the Price

I am loving this tv so far. Great picture, decent sound for my bedroom, and very responsive interface. It was very easy to set up and configure my cable box and playstation 3. For the price, this TV is an excellent value. I used to stay away from smart tvs but having Roku built in is great (I'm a big Roku fan). I'm definitely looking into a larger size as an option for replacing the TV in my living room when the time comes. The only thing I would wish for is the ability to program one of the hardcoded buttons on the remote. I love three of the mapped buttons (Netflix, Hulu, and Google Play), but the 4th button is useless to me. It would be great if they'd allow at least one button to be remapped to another source like your cable box.

Bright images are absolutely wonderful however, darker images really suck! I returned this item without haste. Watching shows like GOT was torturous.

The TV lost audio and required rebooting and setup to get the audio back up. I explained the issue with Best Buy and we swapped it out for a different model.

    Great, affordable entertainment option

Insignia – Smart – 4K UHD TV with HDR Roku TV I recently moved into a new apartment and found myself in desperate need of downtime entertainment. Aware of my addictions to American Horror Story and Stranger Things, what I was searching for became more clear. My own television. A device with all the bells and whistles that wouldn’t break the bank. A one stop interface that would allow me access to all of my favorite streaming platforms. With these things and a desire for great picture and sound quality in mind, my search began. As my move-in day approached, I combed the aisles of Best Buy and Walmart, weighing out all of my options. Many different TV’s caught my eye but none seemed to satisfy my needs. However, there was one exception. The Insignia – Smart – 4K UHD TV with HDR Roku TV. While I have no idea what most of those things mean, I do know that it met all of my expectations. This TV is paired with the Roku Smart interface, giving me access to a variety of apps. It also showcases exemplary picture quality.   In a word, this television is beautiful. It’s glossy 50-inch screen is absolutely captivating. Like nothing I’ve ever used before, it has redefined the word entertainment. The Insignia Smart TV features a number of amazing capabilities. The Roku Smart interface offers you access to all of your favorite streaming apps. Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, and a series of other great apps are available to you at the press of a button. Over 500,000 movies and episodes of TV are available to stream when using the Roku Smart interface. The Roku mobile app is compatible with this TV as it features Roku as its smart interface. The mobile app has a variety of capabilities. You can use your phone as a remote, use voice commands to search for TV shows and movies, browse channels, and more exciting features to explore. You cannot go wrong with this TV. The picture quality is almost unmatched. The Roku Smart interface is quick and has exposed me to a world of endless entertainment options. There is only one feature of this TV that I take issue with and that is the sound quality. The volume must be turned up quite a bit if you hope to hear anything while watching TV on a streaming service. However, outside of streaming services, the quality of the sound is exponentially better. This television is far and away one of the best purchases I’ve made in years. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is searching for a very affordable entertainment option.

Good TV if it lasted longer than a week

I was one of the people who did some research before buying a television, and thought that this TV would be a great balance between quality of picture and a great price. When I first purchased the TV, everything ran smoothly for the first week. I was excited! Then suddenly the TV stopped picking up any wireless signal (at all). After emailing Insignia, we did the whole troubleshoot back and forth (I even called my ISP to change channels), the end result was the rep suggesting I just get a new TV because of a defective wireless card. Maybe I just got a lemon TV and that's one of few. But it looks like I am not the only one to get this problem (probe the internet, and there are more cases like mine). After all of the moving and unpacking, repacking, troubleshooting, sweating and time consumption... The experience left a bad taste in my mouth for the product. If you have the time, go for it-- get it fixed, make the calls, do the work. For me, if I purchase a TV, I just want it to work the first time around. Ain't nobody got time for that. Returned.

Retired a 10 yr old 40" SAMSUNG that still works!

I was ready for a change, picked this one due to the the amenities it offered! I needed 3 HMDI inputs & "audio out" to use my surround sound system, many other brands & models have no "audio out"! Setting up the Roku account was somewhat difficult BUT after I got it on my side everything went great! I already had accounts with Netflix, Amazon & HULU but you have to enter your debit card number for their database in case you want to buy or rent a video! No charge unless you buy or rent a movie! The remote is very efficient for it's size & TV settings were EZ to navigate thru! So far I am thrilled with it's performance, a whole different world in entertainment! An excellent "bang for the buck"!

Bought this to replace a 3 year old Samsung that went dark. The picture quality on this TV is fair to say the least. Kind of blurry or fuzzy. No comparison to my Samsung when it worked. This TV requires the use of two remotes. I programmed the cable remote for the TV but all it does is turn the TV on and off and adjust the volume. I need the Roku remote to get to cable TV. This should be unnecessary. Secondly the volume on this TV is really low. Even at full it's hard to hear so now I guess I have to buy a pricey sound bar so I can hear the sound. Also there is no way to get on the internet with a browser. I have about about a week or so to decide what I'm going to do so I'm leaning on returning this for just an HD TV and adding a Roku box. Most of the Roku channels require paid subscriptions anyway so having Roku is no bargain and not that important.

Software update made my TV unusable - DO NOT BUY

In the interest of being fair, I will say that this TV is a great product at a great price (when it works). The Roku functionality makes it super easy to use from a user experience perspective, and the picture quality is better than average in this price range. HOWEVER, I will never again buy an Insignia TV, nor should you. In the beginning of November 2018, a software update was deployed automatically that caused an issue with the sound quality and also made the internet connection highly unstable. When I turn on the TV, the sound is muffled. To fix the issue, I have to got to the settings window, change the sound mode, then change the sound mode back to "Normal" and the sound is back to sounding fine. As for the Internet connection, it constantly drops while watching streaming services. I have a great fiber connection to my house and an excellent router setup, and have confirmed that the issue is not with my home internet connection. But still, a few times a day the connection drops, and I need to unplug the TV to reset the connection. I have been working with Insignia support for over a month on this, with promises that a software update would come out to fix the issues. Every update that has come out since then has not fixed the issue. I'm still waiting for it to be resolved. This TV is eight months old. It should not be having these issues. Insignia will not replace it despite being within the warranty period. As I said before, DO NOT BUY THIS TV.

After reading such positive reviews I decided to buy this TV on Black Friday, great price and I wanted to upgrade from my42 inch Vizio. Came home and set the TV up, first problem was the remote didn’t work so i couldn’t set up the TV. Called customer service and they picked up rather quickly, they were 2 options after the trouble shoot didn’t fix the problem. They could send me a new remote but that would take a week to receive or just return it. I should have returned it that same night. I figured out that several keys had been stuck on the remote and I needed to pop them out. Once that was resolved I was able to set up the TV. I will say the Roku remote is easy to use and was a nice feature. However once I set the TV up I could see the picture wasn’t as clear as my old set. In fact is was worst. I set my old tv up in my guest room and compared the pictures, it wasn’t even close, my 6 year old TV was miles better. I decided to return the TV the next day and bought the 50 inch Vizio, I can say that paying the extra was well worth it, picture is fantastic. My review to come on that TV soon.
