We live in southeast Michigan so we only need a dehumidifier in the basement during the summer months. We purchased a Frigidaire dehumidifier 4 years ago for the finished side of the basement. It’s still running good but we noticed the utility side of the basement needed a dehumidifier as well. We decided on the Insignia. Once we had it running my husband decided to move it to the finished side of the basement because it was so much quieter than Frigidaire. It’s been running for the past couple of months and it’s been working great! No complaints!

Have been using for about a month in the basement during a very humid month. Has maintained a great humidity level the entire time while using a hose to drain it automatically. Easy, convenient, solid price point

Arrived quickly and not damaged. Works as designed. Easy to use and not to loud. Does a good job of removing moisture. A really good deal on daily deal. I would definitely recommend it for the price point.

Quite ( it’s in my basement). Pulls a ton of water, for a while I was emptying it twice a day. Energy efficient, I didn’t notice a significant jump in my electric Bill.

I’ve purchased other Best Buy Insignia products. TVs. This dehumidifier replaces a 70 pint LG. This one has been quieter and able to take more moisture out of my damp basement than the LG ever did. Two months and it’s working great. Would highly recommend.

It works fine but doesn't have a way to pump out water vs having to dump it into a drain. It has a hose connection but doesn't help my home scenario.

Thank you for your honest feedback! We’re glad to hear the product is working fine overall, though we understand the inconvenience of not having a built-in pump for water removal. Your input is valuable and helps us better understand how our products perform in different home setups. We truly appreciate your support.

    Good Humidifier, a little noisy

The first one that was delivered did not have a working humidity set control. The replacement unit had the same problem but after pressing the up/down humidity setting buttons while turning on the feature activated. It is a little noisy but I expected that an really didn't care because my Frigidaire dehumidifier is quiet and could be used in the living area and the Insignia in the storage area of the basement. The water tray is kind of messy to empty and is not covered, the Frigidaire is covered. I eventually used the direct hose to drain feature so the water tray is not a problem The Insignia appears to be manufactured by Frigidaire and at a much lower price is a good value for the right location.

This dehumidifier is easy to use and it’s quite a big unit. It’s efficient in collecting water and the water tank is big enough so you don’t need to dump the water as often. But do check the level to ensure it’s not full.

This dehumidifier is one of the best of the market for performance vs price. It is efficient and turns off when the humidity target is reached. It is quieter than other dehumidifiers I have used. Check your for rebates with your local energy provider! I got $30 back.

Does the job but has issues

Ordered the first one online to be delivered at home, it did not work properly, the air blower worked but the compressor never started. Returned it to the store and got a replacement. The cable holder piece that attaches to the back is problematic, on the first defective unit I was able to assemble it but I could not remove it when I took the unit back to the store. On the new replacement unit I could never attach it to the back, it just does not snap into place, so I don't have the ability to wind the cable to the back when the unit is not is use. the replacement unit came with no English language manual, somebody made a mistake and put two French language manual, This is not important because the manual is useless, it just tells you the names of the buttons, does not provide any explanation or advice on how to use your dehumidifier or what is the recommended best use of each function controlled by the buttons, so if you have never had a dehumidifier before you need to search the web for tips and advice to make the best. Once I got the unit in a proper location (according to the internet at least), the unit worked good, in combination with the air conditioner, it keeps humidity in a conformable level in our apartment, it can be a little loud when running, but it is about the same sound level of a large window air conditioner unit. Depending on the humidity outside, the temperature setting of the AC in the room and the dehumidifier setting, it will run variably for short periods of time frequently or almost continuously, but it does collect the moisture in the tank, so in my case it will get full in about 2 or 3 days, I try to dump the water when it is halfway full because the 50-pint tank gets heavy when full. So for the price it does the job despite some quality and design flaws.

Had to make sure the float switch was in the right spot when first put it together but it works great. Fills up after about 8 hours which isnt bad if you use the reservoir. A little bit rough snapping the tank back into place. Other than that it has done its job!

I recently had an issue with mold due to the humidity in my home and had a remediation removal to clear the problem. I was recommended to try a dehumidifier and after an extensive research decided on this unit. I have to say this humidifier makes a huge difference. When first set up I had to empty the tank about 3 to 4 times in 1 day (that should give you an idea of how high the humidity was in my house) I actually felt the difference from the first day I started running it. I highly recommend this unit. If you are considering it don’t hesitate it is worth the investment. 5 ⭐️‘S

It's working well and doing what it should. I have mine in a garage where it's main job is to dry out a cord of wood. It's also keeping the place dry the area is 560 sq. feet...lower than the usual for that unit. No problems with operation. Would recommend.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that the unit is performing well in your garage, effectively drying out the wood and keeping the area dry. It's great to know that it operates smoothly even in a space slightly smaller than usual for its capacity. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we appreciate your support. The price was the lowest for this size -50 pint - compared to Lowes and Home Depot. We bought this for our finished basement. It was easy to use and works well. It holds a lot of water, the water bin pulls out. It has wheels and can move across the room as needed.

this dehumidifier has made a big difference in my basement. the air has a better smell to it and it actually feels cooler as if there is an air conditioner down there. no more damp feeling. I have it set at 55% humidity and it turns off when that's reached and back on if it goes above. I used the hose connector so that i didn't have to empty the bucket when full. i had a problem finding a hose. maybe because it was late summer, and i didn't want 100 feet of it. my old dehumidifier actually came with a small white plastic discharge hose. I would have given 5 stars if a hose came with it. Wheels make it easier to move around.
