Works well, picture is good, sound is good. It's a tv. If you are so wrapped up how clear or how awesome your tv is, if your that wrapped up in television, maybe you should get out more. Better yet, stay home and don't infect the rest of the world.

Big screen little price that’s about it

It’s a good price for the screen size. However it is a basic tv with no smart features and minimal options for connections. For those who are A/V enthusiasts like myself, this tv crushes blacks at the lowest few black levels and clips blue at the higher levels quite a bit and green almost as much. The contrast ratio is unsurprisingly lacking. The consumer menu is very basic. The backlight is awfully bright (I have mine turned down to zero, and I have a feeling the light output affects the longevity of this screen more than backlight levels affect other screens). No passing grades on de-interlacing, up-converting or de-juttering type type processor tests. None of this surprised me and I wasn’t upset by it but wanted to mention it for the purpose of managing expectations. I gave this tv 3 stars, I’d maybe give it 3.5 if possible. If you don’t need bells and whistles and mind blowing picture, it can be a great option. I just needed a big screen to use as a primary screen from a distance for my damaged all in one computer screen and it serves that purpose.

I've purchased several Insignia Tv's, and this one is as good as the rest. Wanted a non-smart tv since we already have roku devices and the $249.99 price was great. Nice picture after some adjustments. Sound is okay, but not great. We will be buying another one when they go on sale. Very good tv for someone on a budget or not wanting to spend a ton to upgrade. 4k tv's are just not worth it yet to us.

The 55 inch TV is great for football and online work. We started to purchase the 50 inch smart tv, but once we arrived at the store and noticed the 5 inch difference, we changed our mind and went with the larger 55 inch screen. It was the smarter tv. It has a great picture and is easy to use. Bigger is better!

Bought a 50" insignia a few years ago had no problems and love it. Now it will go into bedroom and the new 55" is now in theliving room. We love it and expect many years of trouble free service like the other we bought . its like watching movies in a theater. Very easy to setup and get going.

So far, so good. Easy set-up with ample slots for a Firestick, ROKU, Blue-Ray, antenna and the Dish hook-up. Picture quality is above average with little change or distortion when viewing from the side. Sound quality is on par with most of these bottom facing speakers. We added a Vizio soundbar to add a little better depth but could have lived with the TV speakers if we had to. The folks at the Las Cruces Best Buy were extremely courteous and helpful which made the purchase even better. We are happy with the product and service.

I'm so pleased with my recent purchase of the Insignia 55" tv, It really fills my wall space and its like being at the movies. A plus new feature I like, is the audio messenger. Great color and sound.

Price was below $250, which was a steal for a 55 inch TV. Delivery went smooth and the box was in good condition. Setup was a breeze, just the one wire for cable. Picture and sound are excellent. If your in the market for a simple TV this is a good deal. Purchase Date: 8/23/2019

    Great TV for Youth Suite

I am a Youth Director, and we needed to replace a TV in our Youth Suite. I was able to find a deal online for this TV at $250, so I promptly bought it, and I've been impressed both by the picture quality (which isn't perfect but is great for our needs) as well as the sound quality. I had read online reviews saying this needs a sound bar, which I can see now depending on the circumstance, but it wasn't 100% necessary for ours. I think it's a great TV for the price, and I'm glad to have found a deal on it!

I have 2 Insignia 32" TV's for the bedrooms and one 32" Visio. Both Insignias in my opinion is was better th than the Visio. Both are easy to set up, but as far as color, and clarity, hands down, the insignia and for the price, Can't Beat That!! I totally recommend Insignia!

I bough this Tv because it’s the biggest I could find without being smart. I use the Roku and prefer to upgrade that instead of the the whole tv and the picture is great!!!

This TV does a great job for the price. No need for 4K when 1080 does the job for a far cheaper price. I enjoy the large size and the convenience of 3 HDMI ports. Overall i am very satisfied with the purchase.

This was a very good purchase. Really enjoy the picture quality of this TV . It was easy to set up and use and fits perfectly in our moderately sized family room. I would recommend the TV for anyone who wants a good TV at a moderate price.

We bought the insignia 43" to use with our fire stick, and it worked so well we kept an eye out for a del on a larger version for our living room. The 55" is almost too big for our space, but it is again a great value for the price.

This tv is low cost but the quality is very good! Lots of hdmi ports on this bad boy l. I will get a lot of use out of this for football season. Don’t break the bank on a 2 k machine when you can get this for so much less cost. Smart

I got this because it's not a smart TV- got a Roku for that- and because it's not 4K or 3D- don't need that. For this size, you cannot beat the price. It has 3 HDMI ports, so I no longer needed an HDMI switchbox for more than 2 devices. There's also a coax jack (for cable/antenna) and RCA (red/yellow/white) jacks for 1 device. Pretty much all you really need. It works with any Insignia remote control from the past 3 or so years. Very good picture quality, even the sound isn't as bad as many smaller TVs. And it mounts easily to the stand I got for it, although I needed help putting it on the bracket because, well, it's big!

My 55” from 2015 burned out recently and so I had to get a new one back in October. I waited since then to write a review so that I could see if there were any defects and let me tell you, it’s been a really great product for the price I paid for it. Keep in mind, this isn’t cutting edge like you’re seeing with 4KTV and that’s because this isn’t a 4KTV. This is an HDTV and a lot of people will get that confused. For an HDTV, it’s great quality. It hasn’t burned out on me and has had no screen issues in the months since I’ve purchased it. I watch television and movies on it everyday and highly recommend it if you’re in a pinch for a bigger TV but don’t feel like dishing out near a thousand bucks for “cutting edge”.

At this point it’s impossible to get a better TV for the price. Especially on a $229.99 sale. If the volume could be improved a bit it would be perfect. Don’t forget the 5 year warranty. After all it is inexpensive so the warranty is a good idea especially at 10 bux a year.

A nice big TV that is not dependent on Roku so I can use my Apple TV seamlessly If you don’t require a “smart” tv, This is a big beautiful picture that you will love and is capable of adding any additions
