    Fantastic Picture and Surprising Sound

A lot of the reviews said that the sound wasn't very good but I would beg to differ. The sound is fantastic for built in sound especially if you have it against a wall. The design of the speakers are not on the back though, they are on the bottom of the case which helps a lot. The built in Roku and 4K screen make this TV a must have for the price! Love it!

The built in Roku is great, saves a few cables and plugs and supports apps for just about everything (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Vudu etc, etc). I just got it at the $399 deal price and for a 54.5" 4k, not sure you can beat it. Installed quickly and easily and picture is great. Yeah, you could nitpick perhaps but certainly not for the price. One error in the online specs: it DOES have an optical audio output jack and I'm using it to send sound to my AV receiver.

I've had the tv for a couple weeks now and couldn't be happier with it. the picture is fantastic and set up was super easy. With the Roku features I rarely watch traditional cable tv anymore. You can overspend for a more respected name brand but thats a sucker move. save your money, electronics upgrade so frequently there's no sense in overspending for the name. The sound is lacking a bit depending on the show but I find that to hold true for most tv's these days. get a sound bar and you golden.

Just got this 55” Insignia 4K UHD 2 days ago and the more I dig into it, the more awesome it gets. One thing I dIscovered that I haven’t seen anywhere is that you can download the Pluto TV free app that allows you to get all local channels for free through the internet, which is beyond awesome. No need for an antenna to get the highest quality over the air broadcast possible. I also upgraded my Netflix to UHD, which broadcasts in 4k and the movies are INCREDIBLE. I figured Guardians of the Galaxy 2 would be a good first movie to test out and it was mindblowing. I did notice a little bit of motion blur in some scenes, but the clarity of the picture was insane. Just played some Xbox1 online and it was also incredible, even though it’s not the 4K Xbox. It felt twice as sharp as it was on my last 2 year old 43” Vizio LED HD TV (not smart). Beyond stoked with this TV. Absolutey obliterates what I just upgraded from. I LOVE the little Roku style remote as well, despite all the complaints I’ve seen about it. You can get to anything quickly and easily with it. I never could stand how cluttered remotes used to be.

    Great tv for the price

I'd say its the a great tv for the price. I will not say it is the best picture quality, the contrast is the worst feature of it. But it does a lot of good things. picture is still decent, and it comes with roku built in which is nice. I do have a occasional problems with it disconnecting from netflix. depending on who you are is whether this tv is for you. If you want theater quality tv this isn't for you. But if you want something big and on a budget this works great.

    Great TV!!

We've only had it out of the box and on about an hour but so far, we love it. It was easy to set up our Roku account and other devices and get going. The picture is good and the sound is quality. A couple times I thought maybe the sound was coming from our sound bar instead of the TV. Our only complaint was the location of the power source on the opposite side of the TV from the device inputs. It meant getting an extension cord to get it to reach over to our media cabinet.

For the price, this TV is extremely great! I got mine on a random weekly-sale for only $329.99 and for that price you get a 55" SmartTV that comes with free Roku and is 4K HD! It was seriously an amazing bargain. I was a little skeptical about the brand, Insignia, but after setting it up at home and playing some Battlefront 2 and watching TV/Netflix its great. It REALLY shines on any quality Blu-Ray movie though, that's where the 4K really pops out. I had my parents come over and now my mom wants one for herself, I really recommend this TV but I would try to catch it on a sale if you can.

    Overall a great TV

My previous TV was an Insignia, and after 6 years it still worked perfectly, so I wanted another one. I'm pretty happy with this one, but there are two problems. I bought an optical audio cable to connect my sound bar to the TV, but the plug kept falling out of the TV's port. I tried both plugs in the TV, and they both fit in the sound bar just fine. I returned the cable to Best Buy and asked what else I could do. The guy said I could call Insignia to get the TV repaired or replaced, or I could use an HDMI cable instead. Dealing with the manufacturer sounded like a hassle, but my sound bar didn't have an HDMI port. So he sold me a sound bar that does (or so he said). I got it home and found out that it actually doesn't have an HDMI port, but it came with an optical audio cable that fits the TV. I suspect that it fits because it's thinner and cheaper-looking than the first one. The AV ports on the TV are inset and surrounded by plastic, so I think the first cable wasn't going in straight because it was hitting the plastic part. Also, the volume button on the remote doesn't work half the time, so I had to buy a universal remote (I don't have cable). The universal remote also works with the TV's Home menu and everything else, although of course it doesn't have the quick-access buttons for Hulu, Netflix, Sling, and Google. I went to Settings and turned off the TV's speakers, so the remote also controls the volume on my sound bar. Hopefully these initial annoyances will be the last because I really like this TV. I was accessing Hulu through my smart Blu-Ray player, but it would sometimes buffer a lot or it couldn't connect. I had also tried a Roku box, and it did the same thing. Now that the streaming services are actually in the TV, they work flawlessly. (I highly recommend using an ethernet cable instead of Wifi.)

Beautiful TV Picture For The Price!

Definitely worth every penny for the sale price. The picture quality is very smooth, crisp, and clean. Sound quality is good as well enough for the price too. The TV has limited buttons, but easy to learn quickly and very helpful with Roku. Overall, watching TV and movies work very well for this price.

    Great 4K

I originally wanted to purchase a TCL 55 inch 4K roku which was on sale for 379.00. As is my luck, all the Best Buy locations near me were sold out. I saw this model and found it had pretty much the same options. Although it cost me about 50.00 dollars more, I decided to pull the trigger. So far I am impressed with the picture quality and the sound. I had a Toshiba 50 inch 1080p that was not a smart tv and decided I needed a bigger tv and wanted a roku 4K. I'm know there are better, more expensive choices but this works for me.

Fantastic TV!! Roku content adds so much to the cord cutting experience but wish it would allow channel number input. We receive 50 channels over antenna and with the free movies through apps, it is a huge hit. Also, it allows a 16Gb/+ USB drive to work as a single channel DVR for an added bonus. We had to change the TV settings significantly to satisfy our preferences, and found we had to change the action smoothing to off to prevent old shows from being too processed to the point where they look modern and shot with a cell phone. The remote buttons have a bit of lag that I hope they will improve with a software update. Settings [ TV Bri-Darker, Pic Mode Movie, Backlight/Brightnes 45, Contrast 51, Sharp 58, color 60, Tint 0, color temp normal, act smoothing off]. I purchased 3 Insig 48" Roku before but now have this 55" and a 49" too!! You simply can't beat this for the price.
