I've owned multiple portable air conditioners and this by far is the best one I've ever owned. Ironic, because at first I was skeptical about it but bought it because it was on sale and the most affordable. I've owned Honeywell, Amana, LG, and SPG and this one surpasses all of them. I've had it a couple months and it cools down my large bedroom and attached bathroom comfortably and quickly. I've heard Insignia is just an LG made appliance rebranded, and this portable air conditioner is waaaay better than the previous LG I had owned!

Unboxed and set up my new Insignia AC unit, 112 degree day for southern Arizona, I’m using the AC unit to cool off my garage area. Tested it inside the house, then moved it to the garage. I previously had another unit, which was no longer capable of cooling this area. The new Insignia AC unit, performed great, I did have to use it primarily after sunset because my garage faces SW and receives the late evening sun. I was previously impressed by an Insignia refrigerator I had previously purchased. The new AC unit met my expectations for starting it in midday on such a hot day. I would recommend this purchase. Even though I am not using it in a conventional manner, it has served me well so far. It supplies cold air and removes heat from the space.

It worked well for almost a year and a half and then something inside cracked or broke causing the water from the condenser to drain into the inside of the unit and then onto the floor. Bad for carpet. But before that it cooled our 15’x15’ room amazingly. I suggest setting it in a pan or something in the event the leaks happen to you as well. Do not let it run sitting in the water though! It’s just to keep it from getting all over your floor. The filter screens are a bit fine so they collect dust very effectively. I suggest wiping down or washing the 3 filter screens every two weeks.

Bought this for my home office which is hot so I wouldn't have to cool the whole house all day. It cools the room down nicely, but is a bit loud. I have to turn it off when on phone calls etc. I expected this. The unit seems to be of decent quality, the remote is nice as well.

Got it to cool our large living room/kitchen on the 3rd floor with high ceilings in an old apartment. It works okay dehumidifying and cooling when it’s not too hot but once it gets warm enough outside that we really need it (85+ degrees), it is very difficult for it to cool the space. It still cools the air coming out quickly and works when pointed directly at you. It is fairly noisy but about what I expected for the size. It was also very simple to set up, other than that the plastic piece to size to the window was too large and needed to be cut.

Sorry Best Buy, I can't rave for this item. I bought this unit to hold me over until I could afford a ductless system. The unit is louder than expected, but again, most window units are as well, but this one seems louder. As for the cooling, at first I thought it'll do great, but instead, it has to run all the time to hold the temp. The room it is cooling is an attic bedroom roughly 300 square feet. Well within the limits of its rating. And yes, attic bedroom, so there is of course more heat involved. All in all, average. It isn't an unattractive, and the design appears good. I'm glad I got it on sale, and I will keep it until the ductless system goes in. Then I'll give it to my niece to torture her <LOL>

it is loud. I needed to download the manual. Looks complicated to empty water from the back (syphon?). Pretty heavy, about 55 lbs. Otherwise it does the job cooling and in dry mode too. Catch it on sale.

Our home AC went down and we purchased this portable unit until it can be fixed. We have a very large living room and this keeps it nice and cool. It is light enough that when my son came to visit, he was able to carry it upstairs and use it there without difficulty. Easy to install the exhaust hose out the window. Overall, very happy!

Our a/c went out this year and needed to be replaced. With temperatures in the 90's, we needed a temporary solution until our a/c unit could be replaced. I purchased 2 of these Insignia units(1 for the bedroom and 1 for the kitchen/family room). The units do a great job of cooling these rooms down in the evening. They are easy to operate even without an instruction manual which is not included but available for download.

Easy to use/install and it’s easily portable from room to room. Can be a bit noisy especially at night but overall it for the job done of cooking off rooms when needed.

This air conditioner is great. Would have died in this heat without it. Only reason 4 stars is it never shuts off. Compressor shuts off but the fan will never shuts off.

I’ve owned several portable air conditioners and this one is so good. The air is super cold and cools a big space fast-much better than others I’ve had. Super easy to install also.

I was surprised at the value. Most others only offer a 400 SQ foot model. This unit is clearly more than 20 % better. Additionally the louvers can move between blowing air up and down. A great product for a great price. I am glad I purchased the extended warranty. I plan on using this unit quite a bit.

Bought it because I dont have central air, and I have rooms with doors so I can isolate the area. It cools well enough. Just a little noisy

Really easy to install work very good.will definitely recomend. I like it also because it have wheels easy to move around.

This air conditioner works well and provides plenty of cold air. Are use it in a bedroom that is probably smaller than 550 ft.² but it works great highly recommend for the price I shopped all around this was the best deal.

I have it in my living room which is a pretty open space and I still need a fan to go along with for optimal cooling. The unit is pretty loud so if you’re going to have in the same area as a tv, make sure you have a soundbar / home theater system. I’ve had it for several weeks now and still haven’t had to empty the tank. The hose attachment is not sturdy and comes very easily when trying to adjust it.

Works great ... but is a little noisey. Easy to operate and move from room to room.

This is the best thing since slice cheese lol. It freezes out my entire open concept living room dining room combo. My company enjoys it and it’s super easy to install.

This cools the whole upstairs living room and kitchen in my split level house. Easy to install and take down if you want to move to a different room
