    No Sound

Like a bunch of other reviewers, this tv cuts sound off intermittently after the last Fire Stick OS update. I've been dealing with this for months and finally searched for an answer, only to find it's a defect. Sometimes it comes back after turning it off and on. Sometimes it doesn't. Going into the settings and doing a full reset will usually restore it. Or you can physically get up 10 times a day and plug in and unplug headphones, which also resets it. Because it was working prior to the software update, and because so many people have this problem this appears to be a software glitch. But Best Buy won't fix it. For a tv that's a few months old, this is unacceptable. I have sworn off Best Buy and will never buy another product there.

    Compromised Product

Bought this TV as promotion during black Friday sales. It was working fine for a week and then started noticing audio issues. Audio cuts off suddenly and comes back after few seconds/minutes. Tried resetting the TV which didnt help. Turned the audio output to Dolby which worked OK for few days. Now its back again. Will be buying a sound bar to see if that does any good. If not, will have to return the TV. Best Buy is a big company with excellent reputation and this shouldnt be happening with their products. This is not just one TV, looking at the reviews here, this is definitely a compromised product. Best Buy/Insignia should work on this and get an upgrade to fix this.. Disappointed...

It has some software issue, often times sound goes away. I have a sound bar which has helped a lot to use this product. If you buy this make sure you have some bluetooth speaker handy.

Sound drops intermittently for no reason, when watching apps like Netflix or Hulu it will disconnect from streaming and you have to play it again. Multiple times you have to replay your movie.

Purchased this TV as part of the Black Friday promotion. As many other people have reviewed there is a serious flaw with the sound on this tv. The tv worked flawlessly for about 3 weeks and now the tv speakers have been turned off and the sound settings for the tv are grayed out and can not be turned back on. Have tried all the suggestions of power cycling and resetting tv to default settings to no avail. Insignia blames it on the Fire OS and Amazon blames it on Insignia. Soooo the consumer if the one one in the middle with a tv that doesn’t work. If I return it, yes I would get refund but what tv can I get close to this size for $200? So the alternative is to buy a cheap sound bar and hope it’s a software issue and not a hardware issue and it will be fixed in a future software or firmware update. I have confirmed a soundbar will work with the tv. Do yourself a favor and avoid buying this tv until the issue is fixed.

I purchased this TV for black friday, I was excited it was only $200 for the size and it being 4K and smart, and came with Amazon echo dot, but a week or so ago the sound d started going out while watching I, I would restart, unplugged, or just turn it off for a while and it would play sound, but it doesn't solve the problem! $200 is lower than the original price but it is still a good chunk of money on something having issues for multiple people!!

I purchased this TV when it was a Black Friday deal this past November, and ever since then, I have been having intermittent issues with my sound. I reached out to Insignia back in the spring, and they gave me a fix to try out. That fix worked maybe for 3-4 days, and then the sound would randomly cut out again. I will occasionally go through the fix again if it's been a while since I have done it, but I am at the point now that my TV is better of being connected to a bluetooth speaker all the time. Very disappointing.
