A good cable to go with a new monitor

I didn't see the point in plugging an old corroded, well used cable into a new monitor. I received plenty of use from the old one and it didn't make sense to me to set the new monitor up with an old cable. A DVI cable will transfer a nice clean signal to your monitor.
