    I purchased this cable after 3 different associates assured me that I could use it to hook my HDMI output from my laptop into a DisplayPort input on my new monitor. Unfortunately the cable only works one way (from DisplayPort to HDMI) and not the other way. If you are buying this to do what I needed it for you should know that it will not work for that purpose.
