HOT cables damages displays

Now there is band at the top of the display that won't ever go away. PLEASE STAY AWAY from these cables or you could be facing damages.

Not sure why. Ended up buying the DP to HDMI dongle and it worked perfect and without the cable heating up.

That is not how this cable works. But the return was simple so all is well and lesson learned.

Not sure if it was the laptop, the monitor or the cord I purchased. But they did not allow me to make the connection, so it was returned.
