At my own fault it seems like the docking system could only handle two monitors instead of three. I bought this adapter to utilize the spare hdmi port. Geek squad did say it would work, and it didn’t. They were super nice and took the time to help and I’m glad they were there. Just make sure to ask about worst case scenario because I was still sold something at the end of the day that wouldn’t work. Again, partly my fault

Not crazy hot, but they are hot enough to notice when you touch them. I'm not sure if that is the case for other HDMI ends as well. The quality seems to run well.
