Unfortunately the new computer did not have a port for my existing monitor, so I needed this new cable to fit the bill. This cable works great. It was easy to install, even for a novice like me, and my monitor has never worked better. If you have an HDMI port on your computer I highly recommend this.

Great Cable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had many troubles connecting my laptop to my external samsung monitor using hdmi to hdmi cabe, this hdmi to dvi-d really solved all of them, I didn't even had to do anything with the settings of any of them. I knew through my search that both have the same quality as both are digital, the only difference is that hdmi to hdmi support audio too, & which I don't care for as I'm already connecting my laptop to external speakers.

My video card is DVI and I thought an adapter would be easy to find... was I wrong. Went with the DVI to Display port first, nope no such thing it only works DP to DVI monitor. Lucky for me the monitors I got also had HDMI and that Best Buys had the right cables in stock. Works like a champ.
