I was able to plug my toaster and coffee make and coffee grinder sort of permanently into one surge protector so i don't have to keep plugging and unplugging my appliances. Then a simple flip of the switch makes them available to use, and a simple flip of the switch when finished. Much easier than plugging and unplugging applicances.

Didn't realize that it was a 3 foot cord so make sure you measure the distance to your outlet before purchasing! We are using one for our computer desk and 1 for our tv/roku setup.
