Safety comes first!

After sewing all da,y I flip a switch and shut the room off. Nothing left on to cause a fire or the kids to play with. I put several in one room so that I can use only part of the room-only the lights, only the iron, one sewing machine not both. All of the incoming cords are wrapped together for safety.

The currents it allows to go protected to the items that are lugged into it. The symbiotic electrical dance it has with the proper amount of current is glowing and if that current goes to high the dance is halted immediately and protects all those around. Only wish it was made in the USA.

There is a black one that's the same price and has the same number of outlets as this one, but that one only has a 4' power cord (this one is 8') and it only offers 600 joules of protection (whereas this model is 900 joules.) This is the better value.

I have bought several of these over the years (some identical to this one, and some with slightly different configurations/numbers of outlets). This is now my go-to surge protector to buy and use. I have never had any problems with any of the ones I have bought.

These are the best type of extension cords you should use for your electronics, in your home. It will shut off/down if overheating.

The ability to turn off the incoming power at the flick of a switch is both great and annoying. Several times I've turned off my computer, but that's entirely my fault and does not detract from the product itself. It's well-priced, the quality is great, and the amount of plugins available is very convenient.
