I had my old shredder for almost 18 years so I until I ruined it beyond repair I never looked at shredders. It took me almost 3 months of research and too much information; which caused a lot of confusion as to which type of shredder would be the most effective; to realize I was just shredding my own personal information and unwanted junk mail. I finally chose this Insignia for it's affordability, capability and the fact that it is easy to empty. I am very happy with my decision because it really is a great shredder and serves my purpose perfectly.

This shredder is awesome. No matter what I run through it, it does the job without even trying. Have not used it on a cd yet but it cuts up credit cards without any slow down at all. My old one struggled to cut more than 3 sheets of heavy paper, this one just powers thru with ease. Third one I have had and the best.

Good product. Cheaper end of paper shredders and does get hot if shredding in bulk.

also sometimes get jammed but otherwise definitely worth the price if you're in a setting that not so busy

I am very pleased with this purchase considering the low price. I read the description online and decided to purchase it as it is very economical and so if it doesn't live up to my expectations, not a lot to lose. It was a very smart purchase as it performed according to expectations. I get excited shredding my confidential documents knowing that they will be securely shredded. I highly recommend this product.

It works as expected. Shred cd, credit card and up to 10 sheets of paper. It shreds automatically making it very economical. So far l have not experienced any problem with it. The price is also reasonable.

Great shredder and great price for easy to use and the trouble shooting is also easy great for beginners...

Worth the price. I have had for over a week and it shreds documents as expected. Was also on sale which made the price value even better

Pretty happy with it. Tried multiple sheets, credit cards, it took it all without any problems. Yes, it gets loud, but it's not disturbing, it's expected.

its just the right size to put on top of a table. it does overheat if you shred a lot of paper continuously. its good for personal use.

This is a very reliable product. I had a lot of old paperwork that needed to be shred, this shredder handled it all (about 20 pounds) It never over heated during many hours of operation.

Insignia branded items just bring a lot of great value to customers. Like myself! I like this product, it's definitely not the highest quality shredder you could purchase, but it's cross cutting, and works exactly the same. I've used it several times, and can even return it as a defective unit if I need to, AND receive the money I've spent on the protection plan back during the first years manufacturer period since this is a Best Buy branded item. Grab this guy before considering any other brands unless you'd like to pay twice as much for a simple shredder.

This is very nice. Doing a lot of shredding and it's not jamming. Paper going through fine. Put about 4 sheets at a time. Overall it's a great investment

I have been able to shred plastic cards and 6 or less sheets of paper like the specs say. It's compact, good for small offices.

This shredder is so much more powerful than our last one. It can handle more paper and doesn't sound like it is bogged down when shredding things. Easy to empty and the little window is nice to see how full it is.
