I connected the 3.5 mm to TV and R/W to the subwoofer. Put it in subwoofer mode on TV. And played TV speakers parallel to this out. Bingo Home theatre cheap and easy

Needed this for my HDTV which only has a 3.5 mm out for AUX. didn't work for our surround system at first but bought this and problem solved.

Good audio adapter cable. New TVs only have HDMI and 3.5mm audio, no more RCA connections. So in order to use external audio that has RCA connections, you need this audio adapter cable.
