I think I got this for my dad to return TV audio to a receiver, length was appropriate and it works as advertised. No reason to pay Rocketfish prices for this type of cable...

I had these great Fluance bookshelves, but no way to connect them to my TV. This optical cable plus an optical-analog converter box did the trick. Now I get excellent Netflix audio.

The cable worked great, but, for my install (WALL MOUNT), extremely short. I don't know if 6' is really sufficient for most set ups. I was talked into buying to short of cables at the time I bought my TV (with wall mount) I was doubting if it would be OK, and should have taken a pass but didn't want to get home and not be able to set everything up. The short cable worked technically well, but, the install was not clean. Measure twice buy the cables once that meet your needs, ignore the sales people on length, they will have no idea what your true install is. I now own a few more cables to go in my unused save for later collection.

I have this connected between a TV's optical out into an A/V Receiver's optical input. It's delivering sound without any issues. Nothing fancy and exciting, it's just a cable.

Works really well, sound quality does not suffer. Highly recommended.

No need to buy an expensive optical cable. This cable works just fine and i doubt you would be able to tell any difference in a more expensive cable.
