I used this USB cord to connect an older laptop to my newer Cannon printer. It worked fine. Just be sure your laptop/computer has the square port. The 6ft cord was more than enough

You will need this cord for the Brother non wifi printer. I highly recommend that printer and this connection cord. When I print, I simply connect and print. Easy no hassle.

The cable works as it should! I really wish I didn't need to use it but for some reason, my wireless printer is no longer working in my home office and I'm not calling the Geek Squad again to waste their efforts and my time. I'll just use the cable to print - besides, it's consistently reliable. My goal is to print when I want or need to print a document - without getting wrapped around any wireless "axle foolishness" and losing my joy!!! HAHAHAHA!!
