I bought this cable to connect directly to my laptop to the monitor. It works perfectly. No connectors needed, just one cable only. Fair price and a good product. Would buy again.

I needed to connect some older but still adequate monitors to a new high-end Dell latop with a docking station. The docking station has two DisplayPort inputs and one HDMI input. The monitors only have VGA, DVI, and DisplayPort outputs. I was able to connect the third monitor to the USB-C port on the docking station to complete the setup without any software or powered adaptor.

Check your monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This works perfectly on my LG monitor at home but doesn't work at all on the HP monitors at work. My home monitor supports Display Port versions 1.1, 1.2 & 1.4 and the cable works with all of them. The monitors at work aren't new enough to have DPv2 so I have to assume it's simply an incompatibility with the monitors. Frustrating, but as near as I can tell it's the monitor, not the cable.
