A geek squad member explained to me that my USB-C connection has video out so all I needed was the cable. Saved money, space, and having to carry an extra piece of hardware. And it works great too! In the past, other multiple items that were more expensive and cumbersome to use were recommended to me and unfortunately did not work. Perfect and simple connector for Computer to TV

My laptop is an older model and it does not have any USB-C ports. This cable was on sale and it solved the problem for me connecting my newer phone to my older laptop. I recommend getting one for yourself if your needs are the same (newer phone and older laptop).
