Set the dial to 3/4. Left it on overnight with just a waterbottle to make sure it worked. Next day, ( 8th ), bottle is a block of ice. Added stuff on the 8th. Opened it on the night of the 14th... Inside feels like a refrigerator, not a freezer - hear some gurgling from the Freon? Powered off / on, no difference. Unplugged for a minute, plugged back in and heard it "turn on". Set the dial to Max. Checked after an hour and it seemed colder. Checked on the 15th, it seemed like it was struggling, messed with the dial - caused the unit to turn back on... It seemed like it was getting closer to frozen...alas.. It died night of the 15th... It's just a unpowered cooler

However, according to the users manual, every 6 months or so, you are supposed to unplug it and remove all the food. After, any ice "defrosts" are to be wiped down with an absorbent dry towel. Then plug it back in and put you food back in the freezer. It definitely is NOT frost free.
