Barely lasted a year, pic is from November 2020, but my review keeps getting rejected. As you can see, I got a lemon. Maybe Insignia would have helped me if my review wasn't deleted and I was able to post my review in October. You can see how happy I was at one point, freezer as full.

We originally went in to BB to check out the Insignia 5.0 cu. ft. freezer for a higher price. While the sales person was scrolling only e, we noticed this bigger one for a lower price. We didn't need this much room but for the price, why not? It took no time to start getting cold, and we live having the extra room. Now when we shop if we want a lot of frozen food, we can! It comes with the basket, and one square platform on the bottom right side. It keeps it's temp even in our garage here in FL, and our temps have been up to 117 lately.

We have a large family, with 2 adults and 4 kids. We often buy food in bulk, especially if it's on sale. This sometimes means we ended up hoarding and storing large amounts of frozen food. This freezer was the perfect solution for us. We keep this in the basement, and it's a good size to store all our frozen food. The 7.0 cubic inch size is the one we purchased. We picked it up and transported it home in my minivan. It wasn't too heavy, and the only thing you needed to do was unpack it and plug it in. It's quiet, stores a decent amount of food, and the price was just right. If you don't care about buying a non-name brand appliance, then this is a no brainer. I've had the freezer for 2 months now, no complaints.

The price was right for this. The size fits just right in my available space in my garage. The instructions were clear and it was a breeze to set up; just washed the inside, plugged it in, and adjusted the temp, and, it was doing its thing. I have had it running for about 4 weeks now and the food is cold, the freezer is running quietly, and all is well.
No complaints; would recommend it.

Works great, and I didn't notice an increase in my electric bill. Perfect size for a family of two. Quite operation. Build quality seems good, and it looks suspiciously like other top brands. The lid seals tightly. In fact, if you close the lid hard, it creates a vacuum that can make it quite an ordeal to open again. I've been using it for well over a year, and I haven't had to defrost it yet (though there is a drain at the the bottom w/ hose connection to make thawing and draining it less messy). One hanging basket is included, which is nice, but there is room for two. An additional basket is not for sale, and I can't track down the part number. Baskets from other brands may likely fit because these are all built about the same.
The freezer doesn't weigh too much, and I was able to get it home in the back of my Subaru Outback with seats folded down.

We have a side by side refrigerator that just doesn't have enough space for our family. We like to shop in bulk to save money and to make less trips to the grocery store. We were able to clean out our freezer and even though it was crammed full, it only filled about 1/3 of this freezer. We only intended on buying the 5 cu ft freezer, but this one on sale was only $10 more so it was a great deal. They had it in stock, it was easy to move and we had it plugged in and cooled off in about 2 hours. I love the basket in the top and it is very quiet. I've had other electronics that were the insignia brand, they are good quality and very affordable. I would recommend this freezer, now I don't have to pass up on sales at the grocery store because of space.

I have the 7 cu.ft. freezer for one and half month and really love it. It's inexpensive but keeps everything frozen solid in the factory medium setting. So far there's not much ice accumulated on the inside so I think I can probably do manual defrost every 2 or 3 months instead of every month. I can put a lot of food and can easily retrieve by using containers to organize. It is sitting in my garage and very quiet. Wish I had it earlier so when my fridge broke last year I could have saved my frozen food!

I own an Intl store and one of my freezers went out. I had no other way to keep the products frozen, so I went and bought this chest freezer! It’s an amazing little thing! It was able to freeze my items at desired temps, very roomy inside, doesn’t take much room in my store, and for the price, it’s an excellent value! I think I will get 2 or 3 more as back up and one for my own use too!

Wife & I bought this as an early Christmas present for our son who lives in Phoenix. Earlier last year he got his first Deer but had to store the meat in his Aunt’s freezer because his freezer just wasn’t big enough. We didn’t want to get anything too big since his garage space is limited but wanted something that would allow him to store any game meat he might get as well as save some money when shopping by being able to buy larger quantities of meats and freezer items when on sale. And, we’re very happy to say that this fit the available space perfectly AND has an amazing amount of storage space considering the overall size of the unit. I’ll also mention that, thus far, this hasn’t had any appreciable effect on his electric bill especially considering that everything in Phoenix runs on electric. And, it runs so quietly that I was initially concerned that it might not be running at all. Hopefully, he’ll get at least 5 or more years of use and, if so, I would have no problem buying this unit again.

I'd been researching small chest freezers for awhile now. I came across Best Buy's Insignia 7.0 freezer. The price was much better than the competitors and the freezer was identical to their brand. Based off other reviewers submissions, I went ahead and purchased this freezer which happened to be the only one in stock at my store. This freezer gets cold....I mean COLD. The temp dial is only half way and it is around -3 degrees. It's lightweight, easy to move and has a light to tell you that it's working. One of the best buys (pun intended) I've made in a long while!

The Insignia 7 cubic foot chest freezer is one of the best values that I have ever purchased. We always are lacking for freezer capacity even with our extra fridge in the garage. We didn't have room for a large chest freezer and this fit right into the small area we had. The extra capacity was just enough to unclutter our freezers in the refrigerators and give us enough extra room to take advantage of meats or other frozen foods when they are on sale.
It is working great. The lid seals well and it is a great bargain regarding cost and space efficiency. Also it is not exceptionally heavy so it is easy to move.
It is 37.5 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 33 inches tall and needs a 50 inch vertical space to be able to open the door far enough to get food in and out comfortably.

It was just delivered this morning, and so far so good, so 5 stars.
The reason I'm reviewing now is to say that I wish I'd ordered the 5 cu. ft. model instead of the 7 cu. ft. one. Now that it's here I see I don't need all the space; it's just for overflow from the refrigerator-freezer in my kitchen. No harm done except for about $40+tax extra, about 8.5 in. of extra exterior width (same depth and height as the 5 cu. ft. one), and a few bucks of electricity per year.
In case it helps: if the rated usable space were a cube, the cube would be: 23.0 inches on a side for 7 cu. ft, and 20.5 inches on a side for 5 cu. ft.
The picture is an attempt to indicate the size of the interior space. I couldn't think of a convenient ordinary object to use, so that's a box of Kleenex. The red thing is a 12-inch ruler leaning on the shelf over the shallow area on the right of the freezer (as you're standing in front looking towards the back.) The picture is taken from the right side. That's my thermometer in the basket; it doesn't come with one.
A couple of actual review notes:
--the height of the recess on the front of the lid for raising the lid is too small, so that rotating my hand as the lid comes up hurts my fingers, and I have to remember not to use it. Minus one star on the "Ease of use" rating, but not a big deal.
--it's very quiet when the compressor is running. If my house's forced-air HVAC fans or my kitchen refrigerator's compressor is running -- about 10' away -- I can't hear this freezer.

I've been looking for a small freezer for a while. This one went on sale for $119.00 brand new. How could I go wrong? It works perfectly. Set to 5 out of 7 on the thermostat. Ice cream is rock hard. Lid seals perfect. New freezer for garage sale price. Very pleased.

We had a bountiful crabbing season this year, and needed more freezer space to store the crab meat. This little freezer was the perfect size - easy to reach everything! We have it on a covered porch, exposed to outdoor temperature and humidity, but not precipitation.
We have had it a few months, and it works great! So, this winter, we can have crab cakes, crab stew, crab sammiches, crab etouffe, crab Mac n cheese, crab burgers, crab dip,... we do love us some crab!!!
Great product. Make sure to follow the instructions when you get it started up.

Last year we had the worst experience when our freezer stopped working and our food spoiled. We then began researching top freezers, my husband went to Best Buy’s and purchased the Insignia Chest Freezer, he wasn’t gone very long, he stated he had great customer service with very little wait time.
Our freezer is working great and freeze food fast and best of all extremely quite, couldn’t ask for anything more. O don’t let me forget the price was reasonable.

Only having used it for a few weeks, it's tough to tell how well it will function in 5-10 years. But so far, it's very quiet and very cold. Price was cut the week after I bought it, and Best Buy refunded me the $40 difference. At that price, it's a great value. Would be great if Best Buy also offered storage baskets that fit in the freezer. I spent more time shopping for baskets than I had for the freezer - ended up with the blue recycle bins that fit perfectly.

Got it on a great sale (think price of a new freezer half it's volume) with store pickup a month ago, box was well intact and no damage to it nor product. The freezer is light enough to maneuver around by yourself though there's not really a good way to lift without a 2nd person helping. I let it settle upright for close to 48hrs and have since kept the arrow opposite of min (70% to max maybe?). Unit has kept everything very cold, very well. We even had a recent 22hr power outage and an icicle that previously expanded out of a novelty ice mold sitting in the top basket didn't even melt a drop, unlike the softening/melting in my fridge's freezer. Power cord is about 6ft long which is perfect for where I wanted to put the freezer. Only thing that would make it better is more baskets to have up top (like everyone else has stated), but we all knew what we were getting when we bought it.

Overall, a very decent freezer, especially for the price point. Will get quite as cold as well; I have it set at about 85% of max and it is holding at -10 degrees in the deeper section, right around 0 degrees in the basket/open air. These temps make it great for storing meats near the bottom while still allowing storage of other items near the top in baskets (a second basket would be GREAT if anyone finds one!). Would give it 4 1/2 stars if it were an option.
Other points, the physical size is great and any home should be able to accommodate the freezer space wise Energy usage is also good and the freezer will operate fine on a 15amp circuit, but highly recommend a dedicated circuit - see notes below.
Only cons is that the freezer may be a little deep for some people's tastes (a sacrifice to reduce the footprint/physical size), its a little difficult to rummage through the bottom. Also, the top door is spring loaded making it light and easy to open..but, it is a little too loaded, it will fly open if you do not hold on to it :)
Overall, an excellent buy!
NOTE: I was able to measure energy usage (using my settings above, about 85% of max) and averaged 1.1 kWh/day (or about 400 kW per year) @ ~1amp with the compressor running. Startup current never crossed 10amps; hence my conclusion that the freezer should be fine on a regular 15amp circuit. Keep in mind my energy use will probably decrease over time once everything is truly cooled down and we stop "playing" with the new toy lol
Note 2: Remember that even though the freezer can run on a regular circuit, NEVER USE A REGULAR SURGE PROTECTOR OR UPS DEVICE with any freezer/fridge!!!!
