We bought this freezer even though we were originally going to get the 5.0 cubic foot one. We went with the 7.1 because it was only $20 more. So far so good! It holds a ton of food, is easy to access the food and it is quiet.

I now own this freezer in 2 sizes, the 7cuft, and the 3.5cuft. I've had the 3.5 for about 2 years and it still works great. I use it for my dogs' raw food, which takes up the entire thing (there's typically 100-150lbs of raw meet product in it). I bought this one about a month ago, as I needed one for my food as well, as I like to stock up when things are on sale and meal prep. It works just as great as the other. Really no complaints about this brand- it's a great value compared to other brands, and while it may not have as many "features," I don't think that matters in a chest freezer- as I'm using it as extra food storage, not my main source of frozen foods.

I love the chest freezer!! It keeps everything frozen, and works great, runs quiet!! I would have given it 5 stars if I wasn't on my second chest freezer in almost three years!! There was a problem with the drain spout, the water was running out the drain plug so slow, and it usually runs really fast when you are cleaning it out!! There had to be a problem that the drain plug was clogged. I had to call Geek Squad, and they said they do not do In home Service for Chest Freezers, you would have to take it to the nearest Best Buy Store. Because I don't drive, I called the store, and because I had the 3 year Protection Geek Squad plan, they sent another one out for FREE!!! Basically because my plan, still covered it! All I had to do was purchase a new Protection plan which was around 70 bucks because my older one was going to end in May, I was going to renew the old one, but hey A new freezer AND I DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY A DIME FOR IT ,WAS GREAT!!! By the way, no one could tell me how to unclog the drain, if this ever happens again, the only thing they said was, well if it happens again we will just send you another one out!!!! I would love to keep my chest freezer for years and years to come, instead of every two and a half years!!!

This freezer was just what we were looking for. Lots of storage but not too bulky. Fits well in garage along side the two cars. Keeps food frozen well, and rapidly. Very quiet. Very affordable. Doesn’t use a lot of electricity.

This freezer is competitively priced considering it's size. And it holds up. Keeps items Frozen and I don't have it set max. Very spacious. Delivered on time. No defects or anything. Definitely recommend to anyone considering it.

I needed a freezer for a large purchase of meat (i.e., a purchase the wife made). She was going to buy the 5cu ft version of this because it was cheap in price. We were about to get over 200lbs in meat, so I had to intervene. The rule of thumb is about 1cu ft per 40lbs. At 5cu ft we would have been maxed out on space, so the 7cu ft would do. To also conserve some space in the garage this model was adequate for our needs. I wanted the larger model with the lock feature, but I did not “need” it. This freezer was light, easy to load, unload, move, start up, and started getting cold fast once plugged in. It’s everything I would expect from a brand new freezer. I’ve only had it a month, so seeing how long it lasts in the garage is the next step.

I love the price point that this 7.0 cu ft chest freezer was at. It is light enough that I am able to move it around the basement by myself. I love how fast the freezer got cold and stays cold. I am not keen on the fact that it does not have a lock, but that is just me being picky. It is definitely big enough for a family of 4.

Works great. Use for deer meat. Currently holding 6 deer worth of processed meat. All meat is solid as a brick. An unbelievable value. Will definitely be buying more Insignias.

I purchased this chest freezer because my old one was worn out. This freezer is the right size and I really like the amount of space it has in it.You can store a lot of food in this freezer. This freezer is very quiet and I love it.

Best Chest Freezer for its price! Pros **On Sale, so far, its over a year and still on great shape! **Spacious **Food is safe and sealed! Frozen Completely Cons **Can get icy when left open, don't let it open so long or else ice accumulates fast! Just make sure to be careful when putting stuff coz it could make some dent inside! Tips ** Adjust the thermostat according to your need! I played it a little higher or lower the middle setting and place digital thermostat to make sure I'm getting the right temperature inside! Overall Its the best buy especially if you need extra space and storage for food! Just the right size for us! Will definitely buy again in the future with Insignia!

We needed more freezer space so we investigated and purchased this freezer. I found three different sizes of wire baskets on Amazon that fit perfectly and it really improves the access to the frozen foods. Additionally, while we were finishing the garage and floor, it sat our on the driveway covered by a tarp and using an extension cord, still kept a stable temperature of zero degrees! Highly recommend it!

Freezer is surprisingly light and easy to move to the location I wanted. It arrived in perfect condition from the shippers who removed the shipping container for inspection and carried away the boxes. The freezer is rated highly at Consumer Reports and costs only $26 per year to run so is energy efficient. The inside is large with a two wire baskets which slide for upper layer storage. It is not self defrosting, but if I will worry about that later. There were not many self defrosting freezers that are energy efficient. It freezes very well which is of course the purpose. It also has a nice light on the door so it illuminates the storage area well when the door is open

I really like my new chest freezer! It has plenty of room to hold a lot of food and it works perfectly...not a lick of trouble. I did buy a couple of bins so that I could more easily access the bottom items without have to dig through everything. But I knew that going in, so it's not a negative at all...just how a short person can manage a 3-foot deep chest. Also, there is very little frost and practically no noise. The reason I ended up choose Insignia, and this model in particular was due to its high rating in Consumer Reports. Then there was the sale on it at BestBuy, and that made it a no-brainer!

Great little freezer. Got to sub zero temps in a few hours when I first started it up. Very quiet, thankfully there's a bright blue pilot light to let me know it's on. Very happy with my purchase.

An excellent mid-size freezer for people who need some extra space. It's quiet, gets as cold as you wish, and will fit in many possible locations in your home or garage.

Since we are vegetarians we need to buy lots of veggies, and this freezer fits perfectly in our garage, makes it easy to open and close and barely makes any noise at all. Very affordable too

What can I say? It keeps things cold. A lot of things. We took no time at all to fill it up and it has been great for us so far. Not too big, not too small. Just right!

This 7.0 Cu. Ft. freezer is great. There's a lot of room inside. It also has a basket which can slide from one side to the other. Would I rather have an upright freezer?? Yes, but you take what you can afford. The upright will be our next purchase. This freezer is quiet, keeps things frozen and doesn't build up much ice at all. It's coming up on a year that we've had it and our electric bill hasn't increased where I'd notice and there's less than 1/8" ice in some places. Kept temperature during the summer. It's outside on a patio. Would purchase again!

It's a great freezer overall, good price and size, quiet, simple design and it's not heavy, fits perfectly in my garage. I use it as my second freezer and it is working just fine. The first one was replaced because it had internal sealing problems.
