I do enjoy the flat plug and hopefully it protects my Alexa devices from any power surges.

The 2 USB connections helped achieve that. I then used the mounting tabs underneath to secure it to the back/underside of one of my end tables.

I looked to see if they offer in shorter lengths, but can't find what I need.

Excellent surge protector

I have at least 5 things plugged in - Google hub, Arlo, iphone charger, Apple watch charger, Garmin watch charger. Occasionally all of them are plugged in at the same time, and I haven't had any problems with it.
