Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the 7-Port Type-C Hub's ease of use, USB ports, and its affordable price. Many appreciate its compact size and compatibility with various devices, including iPads and other peripherals. However, some users find the cable length too short and report that the hub can get warm during extended use. A few also experienced issues with charging certain devices through the hub.

Works well, looks like a native Apple accessory
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this for a new MacBook Pro 15, and I use every single port. My old MBP had a built-in SD-card reader, but I still needed an Ethernet to Thunderbolt adapter. This one does it all (except that I could always use more USB 3.0 ports). NOTE: sometimes USB-C is not recognized until I unplug and re-plug the adapter. That clears it up, but was never an issue with my previous USB ports-and-hubs. It does run fairly hot, but I draw a lot of power and have run it with a Focrusrite Scarlett 2i2 which sends phantom power to microphones. Never had a problem keeping the MBP fully charged, and both data and internet speeds are very good. The build quality looks as good or better than any of my native Apple accessories.

valuable convenience
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia 7-Port Type-C Hub with Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is a valuable accessory. I bought it mostly for the ethernet connection since the new laptop does not have an ethernet port. The additional features though allow me to also have the power cable, digital audio converter, and external hard drive all on one side of the computer - taming clutter and keeping those items conveniently placed. And it frees up the remaining ports on the laptop. The white color is good to help locate it inside a dark gig bag.

Gives me more USB ports on my laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a new laptop with limited USB ports, so the Best Buy employee encouraged me to purchase this hub. It allows me to easily transfer pictures from my camera's SD card and also has an ethernet port and 2 more USB ports. The only negatives so far are its short cord and that it was fairly hard to get it into the port on my laptop, but it's done the job so far. I also wish all of the ports were on the side facing me when it is plugged in; the SD card reader is on the back.

Beat docking station out there
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s dumb that we even have to buy these since they started getting rid of ports, but this one works better than the others I’ve tried. I tried the ones that connect directly to the side, but they usually break within a month. This docking station includes an Ethernet port, two USB ports, an HDMI port, an SD card and micro-SD card slot, and a USB-C port with power pass-through. It’s nice and small for portability as well. If you need to get one, get this one. The price is right.

This is a life saver, for working from home.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a laptop, come to find out it didn’t have an Ethernet outlet. This worked great and gave me extra USB ports! Highly recommend.

Does exactly what it says
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My company got me a new MacBook Pro, but they weren't aware it only had 2 c style ports. It's great, I have it connected to the internet via ethernet and a wireless USB mouse.

Insignia 7 port Type C Hub with ethernet

Not the best
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This items works but not to expectations. It’s made for a Mac but when I plug in a monitor it changed the color to a pink hue. Tried this on two different monitors.

Totally fine for its purpose
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to give me more options with peripherals for my MacBook and it has been great. Not a whole lot to say- it is plug and play, no drivers or downloads needed. I do wish the cord that plugs into the computer was longer or could be switched out with usbc to usbc to make it longer, as it pretty much has to be used on a flat surface (I have a stick on stand that tilts the laptop, for instance) or else it dangles. It does get a bit warm when in use, but that is to be expected. If you just want a simple, more affordable way to add extra ports and don't mind the short cord, this should a good option.

Instructions would be helpful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very handy device with lots of functionality. Can use it to charge the mouse and also has multiple ports for different memory devices. There weren't really any instructions so it took some effort to realize none of the ports were active until it was plugged into the laptop. Other than that, it's very handy to have.

Insignia 7 port C-Hub with Gig. Ethernet Adapter
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This adapter works great so far. It has all the ports my Surface Pro does NOT have. You can easily access a micro disk port, regular memory disk slot, 2 USBs, a USB-C & more. It is quite handy. My only complaint is the same on many such devices... The cord is seriously short!!! It clumsily gets in the way & occasionally unplugs itself. Annoying, but worth having all the extra ports this tablet does not have standard- like on my old MacBook Pro. But I do like my new surface, so it's a trade-off I'm willing to endure. Wish they get it across that most people really want an extra longer cord! I would recommend this even with that one caveat.

Great multipurpose multiport adapter.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely versatile adapter. I use it with my Mac Air. It allows me to plug in a HDMI for dial screen while at the same time I can plug in a flash drive and storage drive and still have open slots if I need them. Allows me to not have to change out adapters just because this fits everything you may want to plug in.

Convenient
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the new MacBooks, you definitely need an adapter for the usb-c ports. I originally got one of the super expensive fancy ones, but it stopped working in less than a week. I then tried out this one and I couldn’t be happier. It has the perfect ports for my needs, it’s simple to understand and use, and it’s perfectly portable and durable. I’d recommend this to anyone with a newer MacBook. Great product.

Absolute Must for new Macs
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This hub is a life saver. I love it. It has a spot for two USBs, HDMI, SD card, and more. I have had a total of three things plugged in to it at once for about 10-30 minutes and it didn't over heat. This is a must if you have one of the newer Mac laptops.

Cord is very short...too short
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works with my M1 Mac without requiring a driver to be installed, which is good. I like that it has all the ports I need. However, the cable is sooooo short...too short to use with my 12.9" IPad Pro because it just dangles off the desk, hangin in midair from the USB-c port. It works okay with my MacBook, though.

No Issues -- Works Great
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No issues with this hub. Everything works fine, and without any hiccups. Runs a little warm, but that's not a problem. A necessity with a MacBook Pro, which comes equipped with only 2 Thunderbolt ports.

Multi ports for devices lacking ports
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased a Lenovo 920 2 in 1 device which, in comparison to my old 2009 MacBook, it is way thinner, lighter and multi functional. What I've gained in efficiency, I've lost in ports which is understandable. Enter the 7-Port Type C Hub. You plug it into the USB Type-C and you have added 7 additional ports to your device, including one USB-C powered port so you can charge a device. It's well made and definitely a must have for those of us attaching sd cards, Ethernet cables, and additional USB cables to our systems. I can't speak for how this would work with any of the current MacBooks with USB-Type C ports but I would imagine it would be seamless. Solid construction and seems to be well made so I think it will last a long time.

Good add-on for your 2019 Mac with Type-c ports
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This hub works as expected. Good option for adding some needed ports to any device that uses the newer Type-c ports such as the 2018/2019 Macbook Pro. The connecting cable is very short so it kind of hangs from your Mac laptop when you hold the laptop on your lap. I would have preferred a slightly longer cable to allow the hub to lay flat near your work space.
