Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the 7-Port Type-C Hub's ease of use, USB ports, and its affordable price. Many appreciate its compact size and compatibility with various devices, including iPads and other peripherals. However, some users find the cable length too short and report that the hub can get warm during extended use. A few also experienced issues with charging certain devices through the hub.

I tried a more expensive adapter that mounts on the side of my Laptop and would not fit when using a protective cover and just came loose on its own. This Dongle adapter is just about half the price and is much more dependable and forgiving of any movement in the position of the laptop.

I was a bit hesitant buying this, as I was never really a fan of Insignia products. I picked this up as it was the only one available at my local Best Buy. It is surprisingly well built. Fast transfer speeds, and it works perfectly. Highly recommended!

Necessary Adapter if you own a MacBook

Unfortunately, the cost of a slim profile in the MacBooks is that you are limited to either 2 or 4 ports, and one of them is for power. The adapter allowed me to run my wireless mouse and keyboard while only using one of the ports.

More functionality including Ethernet at a price point lower than competitors. USB-c connection is tight. I used first for Mac to Mac Ethernet connection for data transfer from old Mac to new Mac vs slower WiFi. Used USB3 ports and work as expected.

Fix for Ethernet connection that won't work

Had trouble with the Ethernet connection also. The USB 3.0 and HDMI work fine, haven't tried the SD card reader. Insignia website offers no drivers and nothing else to help troubleshoot the Ethernet connection on the device. The problem was that the Realtek USB GbE Family Controller failed to install for this PnP device. Realtek website support has new drivers but these didn't work either. The list of drivers available included a Microsoft driver, and this one worked. Go to Control Panel>Device Manager>Network Adapters> Realtek USB GbE Family Controller>(right click)Update Driver>browse my computer for additional drivers>pick from a list of available drivers>choose the first driver: Realtek USB GbE Family Controller(Microsoft) For this price I could have bought individual HDMI,USB 3.0,Ethernet connections. Now that it works I'm happy with it.

Needed a solution for my laptop's broken SD reader. Fortunately, this is fairly small and portable. Just plug and play usability is great.

As with many reviewers, I purchase the Insignia hub to more efficiently work from home. it truly is plug and play without any problems. The only enhancement I would recommend is to make the connector cord twice as long so you have ability to more freely organize devices.

This little adaptor helps me to use a microSD to port data from a very new tablet to a very old desktop. It was fairly priced and well stocked so I had it in hand that day. Yes.

I first purchased a hub with two plugins that made the hub parallel to my Macbook. The hub didn't quite fit the C-ports well so one port is already lose on my new Macbook. This hub is less stressful on the machine and easy to get out of my way when I work.

This is a good, affordable adapter. There are adapters out there with faster card readers, USB ports, and the ability to handle higher video quality over HDMI. However, to get all of this plus Ethernet and pass-through charging in a very compact package at a good price makes this a very good deal. The adapter does get slightly warm in use, but this seems to be normal for every such offering on the market.

With the change to USB-C on the Mac Air, there are no USB ports. This compact device provides pass through charging, (2) USB ports, SD and Micro-SD ports, along HDMI and Ethernet ports. Very useful and saves on having many attachments. I love it!

I hate that Mac did away with the built in ports to make more money off the consumer. Their scheme worked. I caved and bought this for the USB ports. It did what I needed it to do for my Mac.
