My old MacBook needed more ports for my DAW equipment, so I decided to get this USB hub. It works. Surprise. But when the computer goes to sleep, my peripherals go into a sort of sleep mode where the pads and lights start making a fireworks pattern. In other words, the hub still delivers power to devices. I pulled the power supply and they still stayed on from the power drawn from the macbook's USB port. This is normal function for any USB hub. So if you need something that will cut power, look for something else. USB hubs with individual power switches do exist, so look around. But if you just need more ports, this thing works great.

Great powered USB Hub. Used to connect X-Ray sensors on a dental office and it works great. devices get connected and disconnected often ad so far is working well.

Working at home, needed extra ports to connect all my headset, phone, and other stuff. This insignia 7 port USB is great, not bulky and does a great job. I love it!

I bought this to expand USB connection for my Xbox 360. It works well and interface well between the XBox360 and the USB devices I have attached to it.

This is perfect when you have security cameras and need or want a separate drive for each but only have two or three USB slots on your PC. Good price too

This device does what I wanted it to do. I am able to charge my IPhone, Apple Watch ,and my auto glocometer every night right next to my bed on my nightstand.

Excellent hardware for laptop with few USB ports. Was able to use external storage devices, monitor, USB mouse and other media at once. Very user friendly.

The product set's up quickly and gets me powered ports for my PC allowing me to plug in items like a hard drive that requires USB power. The only thing it doesn't do is charge my phone if the computer is turned off oh well.

This 7-port USB hub enables me to hook a number of peripherals to my laptop, giving me a lot more capability--two monitors, for example.

i like it because it does have lots of ports and when i need them they are there and of course they are all powered, not from the computer, but from its own power supply

I finally decided to deal with my hubs. I had 4 of them hooked up to my PC. No, I didn't need all of them but over the years I kept buying them because they looked ok, or were bought to do whatever job was at hand. Most of them kept falling over from the weight of the wires. This one, however, was perfect, as it is flat on the bottom and I could use Museum Putty to stick it down to my desk. No fallen hubs any more! And I got rid of all of my other ones, and this is big enough to plug in all the miscellaneous peripherals I seem to need to do my work.

Has all the USB slots you need to run a bunch of different items at once. I needed more and this item works well for all my needs.

I have a 5-year old ASUS desktop PC with a limited number of USB ports. I had a 4-port USB hub, but needed more. (Also, the ports on my old hub were loose and would disconnect easily.) I almost didn't buy this one by Insignia--looked like the ports were too close together to be able to use all 7 ports, but it is fine. I have filled 5 of the ports with room for two more USB devices if needed. The power adapter for it has a large plug, so that has to be accounted for. But I am very pleased with this hub. I didn't need 3.0 USB for any of my devices, so this 2.0 is fine.

Had easy hookup and filled every port. All ports functioned at same distribution rate on each. No issues after using all seven ports for 2 months. Very satisfied.

It's small and it works perfect! I have my external hard drives connected and a printer and so far they have been working very good.

Worked perfect for my Rasberry Pi. Easy to hook up and use. Would recommend no matter how many usb slots you need. Small and compact.
