The fact that it has it's own power supply makes it ideal for plugging in cooling pads or my light up gaming keyboard, mouse and headset. Having an extra seven USB slots without having to worry about burning up my computer is wonderful.

Can't just plug in to outlet as it will not work at all. If you are using it for on a desk with a computer and to charge other things it is perfect.

I do a little bit of teaching and I was able to run serato DJ off an sl2 box, a recording program using an M box and my external two hard drives all at the same time latency problems were nonexistent I was really surprised

The powered USB3 hub allowed me to use a cable much longer; long enogh to hang my WiFi adapter on the wall!

It is essentially an exceptionally large addition to your computer for extra USB devices. I bought two of them in case something was wrong with the first one, and neither would charge devices.

I have to set it on top of my CPU, which makes it awkward to plug in additional USB cords.
