This is a well built hub, solid metal build with a braided cable. The inputs include 2 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port, Ethernet port, SD and Micro SD readers. The USB type C port is power in only, it will pass about 100w thru to your laptop. Unfortunately for my laptop that is but a trickle charge and does not help on my main laptop. It will power my Chromebook without issue though. This is great to throw in your backpack to have the extra ports without needing to pack a full docking station. This has the ports needed to act as a mini-dock if you are willing to think of it that way. My laptop only has 3 USB type C ports, so this was great on my last road trip. I was able to attach my external storage and my wireless headphones (requires a dongle). I also could connect to external HDMI monitors without issue. Overall the build is quite good. I just wish there would have been a USB type C that was usable. Losing the port to the hub and the port I used for power left me only one port for anything else i needed the port for such as charging headphones, ear buds, phone, etc. I would definitely recommend this hub as long as it gives you enough ports for what you need it for.

Today with laptops being thinner and thinner you only get like 2 usb ports. Well this usb hub you get a SD card slot, 2 usb 3.0 ports, one usb C port , ethernet port and the hdmi/ USB port . Yes the hdmi port is also a USB port. The braided cable is usb C. But you plug that to your device. You can mirror your diaplay at 4k 60hz with 5Ggbps transfer speed. Up to 85 watts of charging so you can charge a laptop with this hub. I did try it with my android phone and it was nice having the android desktop mode from the phone on the TV. Plus i was charging the phone! You don't need wifi to mirror your screen on to the TV and have lag while watching a movie. This will work with windows mac and chrome os as well. Its made from metal and its light. You can carry it with you and keep your sd card in there. I thought i wouldn't need this thing but I'm glad i have it now i dont know what i would do without it. Now i even carry a hdmi cable so i can plug it in someone's house and i don't have to share my password to watch a show or movie from my subscription streaming services. We can watch it from my phone or laptop

I am very impressed and happy with the Insignia 7 Port USB-C Hub. This is the perfect device to cut down on the “dongle” life when trying to hook up to multiple devices for your laptop. With just one USB-C hook up you are able to get power, video out, ethernet, 2 SD card types, and 2 USB ports. The metal body and braided USB cord really inspire confidence in the longevity of this device and with simple plug and play compatibility, you can just plug in your devices and have no problems. The ethernet port has up to 1Gb speeds allowing you to add wired internet to your laptop along with hooking up to your monitor. The fact that the monitor output can support up to 4k 60fps is very impressive for a passively powered USB-C hub. The only thing I feel that this hub is missing is an additional USB-C input, that way you can still deliver power and plug in a device that also be uses a USB-C input. This would allow you to plug in your USB-C devices and still deliver power to your laptop which I think would be extremely helpful. I think this is a great USB-C hub and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for one.

The Insignia 7 port USB-C Hub was a great additional to my computer. The virtual world we live on now will require more accessories be attached to your laptop or desktops, and this 7-port USB-C hub has helped our tremendously. The main issue is with the laptops that do not have enough usb ports. In many cases we need options for a mouse, keyboard, headphones, phone charger or additional hard drive. This hub definitely lets you enjoy additional accessories that may be needed for your everyday work. With it not being much bigger than a normal portable hard drive it allows you to plug in a micro-SD card or regular size one, it also has 2-3.0 USB connection ports as well as an additional HDMI port, and lastly a PD port. The connection cable is not that long so it may be an issue for some. It literarily is a plug and play type of application and ready to use within seconds. The fact that this opened up additional ports to plug additional items or items i was not able to plug in before to my laptop makes it a great addition.

I have just upgraded my laptop and I needed more USB ports, so this is why I got this hub. Off the bat this hub feels pretty hefty and is constructed from metal like the terminator. With the metal case I know durablity will not be an issue, especially this hub will be brought along with me on numerous business trips. The seven ports are broken down like this: - Two USB-A 3.0 Ports - One HDMI Port - One USB-C Power Port (USB-PD) - One Ethernet Port - One SD Card Slot - One Micro SD Card Slot I used this hub with a Windows 11 Laptop and an Android tablet and I really did not have any major issues. The only issue I had was with the speed of the USB-A ports and the USB-C port is for power only. I think this hub is overpriced since it can not deliver faster speeds for the USB-A ports and the USB-C port is power only. This is the only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars. I do like the size of this hub it is very portable, so when I go on business trips it comes with me. I do recommend this hub even with it's minor cons.

This Insignia USB-C hub is a great expansion for a laptop or mobile device that you need to expand the ports on. If you have an advanced USB-C port, you can use it to expand an HDMI port, 2 USB-A ports, an ethernet port, and SD and microSD card reader. The build quality is excellent because it is metallic. Good weight and solid feeling. Reading data off SD or microSD cards were stable and quick. This hub is a great way to expand the connectivity of your laptop because of all the devices that a laptop uses nowadays. Mouse, second monitor, USB microphone all connect to this hub and only occupy one USB-C port on your laptop. The HDMI port works perfectly to connect a second monitor or used to connect to a TV. Granted, the HDMI port only really works if your USB-C port supports DisplayPort connections, otherwise only the USB features work. The ethernet port works fine and running speed tests shows no degradation of network speeds. All in all, this is a great USB-C hub that is affordably priced and is a must have if your laptop is USB port limited

The solid exterior (feels like it could be magnesium alloy?) and sturdy braided cable give this USB hub a premium look and feel. My biggest complaint is that this hub lacks a USB-C data port. You can get this plus all of the features/ports this hub has in a competing hub that costs less (at the time of writing) from a top brand, which really knocks down the appeal of this hub. The hub worked well for me in Linux, Windows, and Android. I couldn’t get HDMI working on my Pixel phones, but that’s a design problem of those phones (thanks Google). With the hub plugged into a PC with Windows 11, dummy-lettered ‘USB Drives’ were created for the card reader slots when no cards were inserted. This is likely due to the default Microsoft drivers used for this hub, but with seemingly no product support page offering alternate drivers, it seems I’m stuck with this behavior. I’ve seen this happen with other hubs, but then I’ve also seen this *not* happen for others (with (micro)SD card slots).

Sleek design. finally i can hdmi output while receiving ethernet internet at the same time.

Fits the need I had to connect a superdrive to my new IMac.

Excelent and covinient. It fits perfectly in my backpack an d the canection is really fast.

Many of the newest laptops only have one USB port so this easy to use small device adds extra ports for both USB and Thunderbolt cables plus a SD memory chip reader
