Slow Refresh Rate

This will blur fast moving actions. You should look for other models that have at least 120HZ and higher rates for motion blur elimination.

BEWARE of OMITTED FUNCTIONS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought an Insignia 55" several years ago, and have never once regretted the purchase - there was an option or two I would have liked, but for the money - Happy Happy Joy Joy. We are now in need of a new set, and I started looking at this 70" Insignia because we have been so happy with our previous one, and all looked very good, until..... In order to save a possible $1.00 in manufacturing costs, Insignia has: (1) REMOVED the additional 3.5MM AV OUT jack on the back of their sets - so forget hooking up any exterior audio to the TV that doesn't have a frigging optical (buh-bye MANY stereo receivers). and: (2) Reconfigured the headphone jack, so that the instant you plug a 3.5" jack of any sort into it...TV SPEAKERS MUTE automatically, and cannot be changed in settings anywhere!! My current 55" Insignia, not only has the additional AV Out jack, BUT...I can (and do) leave my expensive wireless headphones plugged in ALL THE TIME, ...and the speakers on the TV do NOT MUTE unless I hit the mute button! AS IT SHOULD BE AT ALL TIMES!!! What monster flipping idiot thinks that anyone wants to have to get up, get up and dig behind their TV set to plug in a little 3.5" plug, every time they wish to use headphones, and then, have to reverse the process to get sound back to the set again???? MANY people use headphones REGULARLY!!! I myself use them 4-5 nights per week as my family goes to bed several hours before I do, and this allows me to watch TV without disturbing them with volume. No muss, no fuss, no fudging around with wires BEHIND my set - I merely hit the MUTE button on the set which closes the connections to my speakers, and turn on my headphones, and VOILA!!! One wife and two daughters snuggled up and snoring, while Dad is BLASTING his way through John Wick, John Carter, or an old KISS concert. This is without a doubt one of the single stupidest things ever changed on AV equipment by a manufacturer - it makes the headphone jack functionally USELESS for 99.95% of owners!! I have also found a few other manufacturers doing the exact same thing - or omitting the headphone jack entirely (which if it won't function as needed...). So I am offering this advice as a warning to folks who are looking for TV equipment of any sort: Make 100% sure that EVERY function you need/use on a TV is there before you buy - the presence of a jack does not guarantee its function!

Live TV screen no good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We got 1 delivered to us and immediately turning it on there were horizontal lines scrolling from top to bottom vice versa or even starting from the center of the screen going up or down. We exchanged that TV for an identical one and it does the same thing. We bought a new HDMI cord, had our TV provider come and update our lines that aren't old and exchanged our satellite box to the TV to be sure we covered it all and it still is doing the same thing. We are hoping to exchange it to a different TV all together. Geek squad hung up on me when I called the next day about the TV. I decided not to call back. My husband did and he was escalated to another department which he was in a call queue. Still waiting on a return call as I type this for about 2 hours now.

Lines across the screen--evidently a common proble

Changed HDMI, various settings, hard reset, etc. to no avail. Evidently this is a common problem with Insignia having the lines across the screen with no fixes. I have over 30 alexa devices and cameras, and wanted a TV that would co-exist--this TV would have been a good fit. Oh, it seemed to work o.k. for a month: others have seen same problems.

Screen now has a 4inch wide dim black bar running vertically across the screen. Only lasted 4 or fewer years …. Don’t buy this. I have LED TVs working still from 2014 that were not $500
