A great gift for Grandma...could add lots of pictures

I purchased the frame as a holiday present for my parents. It was extremly easy to set up and the picture quality is fantastic. The menu is clear and it's easy to change the options. I had no problem setting up the auto off, the speed between pictures, etc. Because the resolution is 800 x 600 (and not some strange widescreen size# my digital pictures fit perfectly. Another great perk is the 2 GB of internal memory; if your pictures are correctly sized to 800 x 600, then you should be able fit between 10,000 and 15,000 pictures on the frame. (Most digital pictures are a larger size, but there is plenty of free software available to re-size your pictures; I found a good one at http://www.obviousidea.com/windows-software/light-image-resizer/).

The other reviewer that said this product has a virus is mistaken. This frame comes with the default setting to power off after 4 hours. It took me a little while to figure out that there are two menus for set-up, one menu is accessed by pressing the menu button on the frame or the remote, and this menu does not have the power-saving options. Then there is the other menu that you access by repeatedly pressing the "Back" button until the main set-up screen appears, then you select the right-most icon and there is the power save option, and there you can turn it off. Of course it should be off! This is a picture frame, of course it should be always on! Having figured that out, this frame loads pictures really easily. I don't even hook it up to the PC. I just plug in a USB jump drive and it pulls all the pictures off the drive onto the main internal memory. There is lots of internal memory, but the process of downloading the pictures is very slow - don't wait for it, it takes several minutes. Some really big pictures (7000 x 5000 pixels) do not display but most sizes up to about 4000 x 3000 do fine. The display is very nice, the transitions are pleasant. All in all, a really fine digital picture frame.

I gave this frame to my sister for Mother's Day and included a 2GB SD memory card full of her children's pictures. She loves it. She has it on almost all day, almost everyday and the frame is still going stong. The easy to use remote control allows her to navigate and display the pictures she likes. I was a bit skeptical about Insignia and the quality of their digital frames but after seeing other reviewers say it was a good frame, I took a risk at this and am proud I did. The only flaw I saw was the frame platic holder at the rear that keeps the frame on at upright position. I wish it was more sturdy than it is. Other than this, it is a great frame and a great gift to any mom.

My girlfriend got this product for her mother. Both of them are not very computer savvy but were able to use the frame with little problems including the transfer of images and use of the features. This frame is a good buy for its price. Have only had for a few months so not sure on the durability but so far so good.

My husband and I bought this on Black Friday when it was at a great sale price! It has been well worth it! Very easy to load pictures, love the large internal memory, nice looking frame, and good picture quality! It has been a wonderful addition to our home decor!

Bought as a gift, so the only thing I've done is load some photos onto it for when it's opened. Unpacking, setting up, connecting to the computer all very easy. Plugged in, the device looks like a thumb drive or media card, so it's very simple to manage. And 2GB will hold a lot of photos. The display is bright and clear, and the menu is sensible and intuitive (to me). If you are watching the photos go by, and you see one that needs rotation, grab the remote and adjust it with a button press. Done. Nicer than the smaller displays with lower resolution; very happy with the way the images look. My only complaint is that the frames made for these things always seem to be modern. I wish someone would design a display + frame where you could choose from several frames and just insert/attach the display. Would prefer wood (or faux wood) with a more rustic look. Overall, "like".

I bought this picture for my wife for her first mothers day. She absolutely loved it! We were both impressed with the pic quality. She has it setup on her deak at work. She uses an SD card to scan through all her photos secondary to the hard drive being very small. All in all great buy high quaility work even better picture.

I've had this frame for a few weeks and am very happy with it. Picture quality is outstanding. Bright whites and nice dark blacks. Random transition effects is great and fun. The 8" makes the pictures really pop (well worth the $30 for the bigger screen.) Copying data to the internal 2GB card is easy and fast; you can load pics on a USB or SD card or (what I did) just connect it to the computer with supplied standard cable and copy in Windows. I keep it on Random to shuffle pictures of my family. Frame is solid and handsome. The remote is finicky; pressing the button once leads to two jumps forward and sometimes one forward and one bag. Not a huge deal. It comes with auto-shutoff times, but the max is 4hrs (also includes a never option). Since I use this at my desk, I'd like a 8 or 9hr option.

Good product.. worth for the price. This is an excellent gifting item if the end user is not tech savvy. Simple in its layout. Uploading files is easy.

This picture viewer is a great deal at this price. It has several features that put it above the competition at the same price point such as the auto rotate of portrait pictures and the auto re-sizing when transferring from SD or USB. The only feature I would love to see someone implement is a timer in combination with a light sensor that would put the unit to sleep when it has been dark in the room for more than X hours. Similar to an outdoor Christmas lights timer.

I bought 1 of these for each of my parents for Christmas, and could not believe how easy it was to upload pics and how large the memory is.
