I ordered thi to ship to the store picked it up but didn't open it up till my computer parts got home for my build. So when im ready to hook my computer up i open the surge protector up and its all scratched and crapy looking. Looks like they gave me something that was returned. Check your stuff at the store.

I like the extra room that it provides for large plug ins. Plus it has 8 instead of only 6 outlets.

I have a few multi-outlet surge protector power strips around the house that I have been using over the years. They are the type that have seven (7) outlets; however, all of the outlets are very close together and all of them are positioned in a straight line. I had two (2) of those type of power strips placed under my computer desk to suit my needs and they stood there for years. One of the first things you saw upon entering the room where they were located was "lots" of intertwining electrical wires! Other Best Buy customers who wrote product review for this item indicate that the great thing about this eight (8) outlet surge protector is that several of the outlets are spaced further apart than the more common surge protectors' outlets are positioned. I have nine (9) electrical devices that require A/C power--that is just around my office desk! There are electrical devices like my computer printer, portable AM/FM radio, and LED digital alarm clock that are not used as often or do not make much impact on electrical draw so I took these three items and incorporated a 12-foot grounded extension cord and connected those items to that cord so it is connected to a "separate" A/C outlet located on another wall in the room. Many plugs from routers, cordless phone base units, modems, computer laptops, window air conditioner units, etc., etc. are a lot larger in profile and this is where this Insignia 8-Outlet Surge Protector Strip model NS-HW503 comes in real handy. Now when I look under my computer desk, there are "far" less A/C power cords and they are not as tangled any more. Things are easier to keep clean in that area and dust, etc. "does" have a way of accumulating! I have been aware of this item for quite some time and I do not know why I waited this long to purchase it and, as importantly, set things up things the way I have my wiring configured now. Also, the profile of this eight (8) outlet surge protector is broader than the "straight" (more common) strips and it stays in place better. Please view photo below and you can see how I made use of this great product.

Great product. Has saved me a a couple thousand. Great price for product. I have bigger splitters that offer massive backup warranty’s for devices attached and this hasn’t done me wrong after 3 years and 4K worth of devices just on this unit
