Why would "anyone" want to purchase "this" item?

I have a few multi-outlet surge protector power strips around the house that I have been using over the years. They are the type that have seven (7) outlets; however, all of the outlets are very close together and all of them are positioned in a straight line. I had two (2) of those type of power strips placed under my computer desk to suit my needs and they stood there for years. One of the first things you saw upon entering the room where they were located was "lots" of intertwining electrical wires! Other Best Buy customers who wrote product review for this item indicate that the great thing about this eight (8) outlet surge protector is that several of the outlets are spaced further apart than the more common surge protectors' outlets are positioned. I have nine (9) electrical devices that require A/C power--that is just around my office desk! There are electrical devices like my computer printer, portable AM/FM radio, and LED digital alarm clock that are not used as often or do not make much impact on electrical draw so I took these three items and incorporated a 12-foot grounded extension cord and connected those items to that cord so it is connected to a "separate" A/C outlet located on another wall in the room. Many plugs from routers, cordless phone base units, modems, computer laptops, window air conditioner units, etc., etc. are a lot larger in profile and this is where this Insignia 8-Outlet Surge Protector Strip model NS-HW503 comes in real handy. Now when I look under my computer desk, there are "far" less A/C power cords and they are not as tangled any more. Things are easier to keep clean in that area and dust, etc. "does" have a way of accumulating! I have been aware of this item for quite some time and I do not know why I waited this long to purchase it and, as importantly, set things up things the way I have my wiring configured now. Also, the profile of this eight (8) outlet surge protector is broader than the "straight" (more common) strips and it stays in place better. Please view photo below and you can see how I made use of this great product.

I hooked this up a year ago to protect my 70” tv. We hardly have electrical storms here in CA, but we had a significant one in October of 2018. I had a number of electronics damaged INCLUDING the 70”tv hooked up to this surge protector. Insignia (aka Best Buy) will not honor their warranty as depicted on packaging. I have provided all the information through countless emails (and they acted as though they cared at first) and from what I can tell they have a policy of delay tactics to avoid fulfilling their obligations. Their written warranty is mis-leading. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANY INSIGNIA PRODUCT.

We bought this surge protector for our grandmother whom we just moved to an assisted living facility. She wanted to have her TV area as uncluttered as possible so we went with this product since she’s only running a few things off of it. The only gripe - and reason I gave it 4/5 stars - I have comes from the outlet layout. In order to make lots of room for the 4 outlets on either end, the middle outlets are very close together. Almost too close for some modern AV equipment. Thankfully, with my grandmother’s minimal equipment, this wasn’t an issue. If you were wanting to use this for something like your home theater/AV setup then you might want to check and make sure all of your plugs can be accommodated with the tighter middle plugs.

I wanted a surge protector that fit a specific cable management box and this was it. I otherwise wouldn't have looked at Insignia (preferred Belkin). But it works well. You can save about $5 by buying an Open Box version, which I got and haven't had any problems with it. It is capped at 600 Joules, which means you can only use 600W concurrently, so if you're going to be pulling a lot of power at the same time, this isn't for you (definitely don't use with an electric kettle, microwave or toaster oven). But it's probably sufficient for most people. I have it hooked up to a 32-inch 1080p TV, Xbox One S, a couple of 25W LED lights, Air Purifier and some chargers (Camera Battery Charger, Phone Charger). Works well.

I have bought this particular outlet strip a couple different times. This was the first time I actually had a little trouble plugging cords into the outlets. First my wife tried, and I thought maybe she was doing it wrong. Then I tried, and for some reason it seemed like the plug was to big for the outlet in the strip. I know the plug is polarized (one side bigger than the other) so it wasn't that. Just seemed like the outlets were made a little off on this one. Did finally get the cord plugged in and all seems to be working fine. Overall I really like these strips. They have a good number of outlets on them, the cord plugs into the wall in a way that allows top or bottom placement in the wall outlet which for me is huge since I am in an apartment with limited outlets.

I recently bought an Anova Sous Vide immersion cooker and, in order to protect my counter top from the hot pot, I sit it on one of the burners on my stove. I needed an extra electrical outlet near my stove, so that I didn't have to keep unplugging something else like my electric can opener or my blender. Who doesn't need extra outlets near the stove, right! I just love my kitchen gadgets and 8 outlets with surge protection is a must have. It's just the right size, not too big and not to small. Also, I can plug in those wide brick-type plugs without covering another outlet. It seems like Insignia just thought of everything. The fact that I got it on Best Buy's Deal of the Day for just $9.99 is just awesome. Thanks Best Buy!

Great product, does what it is intended to do. At times it is a little hard to get the cords into the slots though, it almost seems as though the slots are closed off for the prongs to stick into them. I'm finding the more I use them the easier that they are starting to open up and becoming easier to use, I like that the outlets are wider spaced on some of them than others allowing the larger chargers to not block the other outlets that could be used to another product when the time arrises. Currently this is controlling my TV, Cable box, DVD player, Alarm clock and my iPhone charger and still has more slots that could be used. Great product, some things are bad with it and overall its better than worse though.

This is the second Insignia 8-Outlet Surge Protector Strip that I have purchased. The first one has protected my equipment for over 2 years now. When I needed more outlets and protection (as my electronics have increased), I immediately chose the strip because of reliability and price. Very satisfied. It does lack some of the bells and whistles of upgraded power strips (USB charging outlets, for instance) but I did not need them and went for the price (so I can use the savings for other purchases).

I had been in the market for a new surge protector. One that had enough outlets to fit all my electronics, even with the irregular plugs that some may have (like the Harmony remote, Amazon Fire TV Stick, etc). This product is great, however it does feel cheaply made. The first time being used is a bit tough, but all it takes is a sturdy hand and once the plug is inserted all the way, it becomes easier to take things in and out. I have considered also getting a label maker to make it easier to identify what is what. So far has removed some of the clutter that I had with wires going everywhere with the standard strip that I was using before.

This is a great power strip that won't cost you a lot of money. I can't think of many reasons to spend more than this on a "name brand" power strip. Insignia might be a store brand, but don't let that fool you. They do make some quality components. There is adequate spacing for bigger "wall wart" style power bricks on this, though unfortunately, not on every outlet. My biggest complaint isn't really with the power strip itself though, it's more with the fact that more and more companies are creating power adapters that plug in "sideways" (for standard wall outlets), which causes unnecessary overlapping on these "side-by-side" style power strips. You can't win!

I did extensive reviews of TVs and compared value of each. This TV had the biggest bang for the buck. We've been happy with it for the past couple months that we've owned it. No real complaints. You can get rid of the soap opera (ultra sharpness) effect and make it look more like a movie screen, which is nice. I didn't think I would have any need for the Smart TV functions since I have a Roku, but I put the Roku on another TV instead since this worked better without it. LOVE the simplicity, design and intuitiveness of the remote! It worked with everything except my old Sony Blu-ray player.

I have my PS4 Pro, monitor, speakers, and laptop charger connected all at once and I'm satisfied with the performance of this surge protector. At times I use up to 6 ports simultaneously, but having even two extra ports available is good. I don't get worried when there's a thunderstorm and I still want to use my devices. I think the little green lights that illuminate to show the surge protector is grounded and protecting connected devices are kinda cool too.

Works fine for my purposes, decent surge protection but I wouldn't count on it for a direct lightning strike. Of course, nothing else would help either, but this surge protector offers a decent level of protection at a pretty cheap price. It's pretty well made, considering the price. The plugs don't swivel, which I didn't need, but I really do appreciate the fact that they left plenty of spacing for heavy duty AC plugs. Most surge suppressors have the plugs so close together you can only use every other one, so this one works better than most. There are better ones out there for a lot more money, but for the average user this is all they'll ever need.

I was going to use this to add more ports for my bed. I have a Playstation, a desktop, a TV, an SNES Classic, and my DS on my bed counter. Was very happy to see there are 2 USB ports right in the middle. This has left me with an excess of outlet charger blocks. This is a good thing. Everything seems fully powered and so far I've had no complaints. I've seen no shocks or anything while connecting, so I have no fear of being electrocuted so far.

I have had a bittersweet experience when it comes to this. Pros: 1. Has multiple connectivity, 2 Easier switch to power all ports. 3. Premium feel and very cheap in price. 4. Good solid thick external output wire. Downside: 1. Outlets are too close to one another. I have been able to use a max of 5 in an instant. 2. No individual on-off switch for all ports. 3. Slightly bulky. 4. Extreme solid wire makes this harder to pack and occupies a higher than required volume. Verdict: There are better cheaper ones in the market that are well worthy of this Avoid this if you can.

I bought this for my desktop computer to plug into, along with some of my other electronics. It works fine although I feel like I should have opted in for one of the pricier ones, just to feel more secure in it's reliability. The only reason why I am not giving the item 5 stars is because I remember when I plugged in my devices, I had to use a reasonable amount of force to open up the outlets. It is an affordable product and it has done its job. If you have the same issue with the outlets, I used the cord that plugs into the wall to open the outlets(hope that makes sense).

Gone are the days of having that one bulky plug that messes up the configuration of my power strip. I was looking for a power strip that can handle all of the bulky plugs that come with some electronics. At the price of this one compared to its competitors is an awesome product especially at it price! It is well designed and well thought out. It fit every plug for every product that I have in my room: PS4 TV Appletv Nintendo Switch Super NES classic Computer Monitor Charger for 3DS They all fit in the strip with no problems. I highly recommend!

When I say its my third, I mean because I was impressed with the first two and bought the third to reign in the chaos of plugs in other parts of my house. This one is going to be my 2nd (yes 2nd) for my computer...I have that many external components, and a good surge protector with a lot of empty plugs is what I needed, and I did not want to pay $50 for one, so when I saw this at Best Buy the first time, I thought I would give it a try. Works great, no problems so far, and I can honestly say that even though I live in Florida, I really hope that it does not have to test the surge protection part of the surge protector.

There are a few reasons why I would prefer this surge protector over any others I've looked at. First of all, I love that I can hang this on my wall behind my television - My TV is up pretty high and the cord doesn't reach the outlet or the ground. By hanging this surge protector on the wall, everything reaches without stretching the cords. I also love that all the plugins on the surge protector are facing outwards. I have a lot of power supplies that would take up two plugins on my old surge protector, which was a huge waste. Now I'm able to utilize every plug.

It does what it's advertised to do; biggest thing I like about this is that the plug-in sockets are arranged around the power strip as opposed to the average power strip, which are all in a line. If you have a router or something similar that has a large power adapter, you can only plug it into the bottom socket of a line-type strip. If you happen to have any other large power adapters, you will have to cover up other sockets on the strip. With this product, you can plug in multiple larger power adapters if needed. Not a huge selling point, but something that has occasionally frustrated me in the past.
