Two Individual Reliable Systems

There are roughly only two things keeping this system from receiving 5 stars:
1. No remote controls
2. The mounting straps cover a small portion of the front which most likely slightly muffles the volume. *that being said, we didn't notice any real significant volume issues!...(but this has been a cause of complaint with online reviews.)
After carefully reviewing people's comments on different systems, I've taken my chance on some purchases in the past with the hope that I wouldn't receive that "lemon"...that random DVD player that gets the one star rating. I've owned three different dual monitor dvd systems over the past 5 years for car travel and they ALL have failed miserably from: skipping/stalling on a smooth road to horribly cheaply made/designed head mounts to poor lighting and/or sound while watching.
Things I love about this system:
1. Strong/secure head rest mounting
2. Two complete individual systems or link them as one!
3. Carrying case
4. No skipping, stalling, or freezing of movies on rough roads
5. Good lighting/picture/sound quality

This keeps the kiddos happy on car rides. The only gripes I have are: The mounting can only be for seats that have removable headrests; and our headrests are molded into the seat so there really is no way to attach them to the seat backs, so the kids just hold them. Also, the sound isn't very loud even when cranked up (at least on our players). This can be a good thing because it's not blaring in our ears in the front seats, but the kids complain sometimes that they can't hear it very well at times.
I love that they can each watch their own separate movie so they aren't fighting about which movie to watch.

Best portable dvd player purchase. My family often takes long trips from Lubbock to Houston. I have bought portable dvd players in the past and they have always broken or the kids fight about what they want to watch etc... I eventually bought a vehicle that came equipped with a built in dvd player, solved the broken issue and made it easier to change the movie for them. Well I traded that vehicle in for a crew cab pickup that has no fancy gadgetry. Due to my limited time and budget I could not have one installed so I bought this pack. It comes with 2 dvd players that can be used as stand alone units and can also be linked to share a movie. Needless to say my kids didn't make a peep during the whole trip to and from Houston. Another cool thing about these units is they have an adapter plug so they can be used in the house also. for just over $100, you cant beat the value.

Buying this DVD player saved my sanity while driving 5 hours with my kids. It kept them happy and not fighting. I love that they can choose to watch the same movie or different movies. I only wish the volume could be louder since I had to either turn off the radio or have it set low and only front speakers for them to hear the movie. Next trip I may try different headphones without kid volume limits but it was also a problem if we used the speakers since road noise on the expressway is a problem.

One of the best portable DVD players available

I go through a lot of portable DVD players (kids are rough), and these ones are holding up well. I dislike the straps many of these come with, so I mount it to the headrest using a single strap looped through the holes on the back - it is a little less stable, but it looks cleaner and I am able to switch DVDs easily. The memory play seems to work well.
I have a couple things that prevent this from being 5 stars. First, there is no remote. It looks like there is an IR receiver, but there is no remote and I cannot find a remote code that works. Second is that they should bundle a cleaner way to mount these - I don't like having to come up with my own mount. Third: the 'second screen' mode only works one way (i.e. screen 1 is the only one that can output video), so choose which child gets which wisely. Last is that the second screen doesn't remember whether it was watching its own DVD player, or the output from screen 1 - it always displays its own DVD player by default.
But, even with all that said, it is still one of the better devices. I guess that is a sign that most of these things are kind of bad.

We purchased for long car trips for our 2 year old but actually use this daily to keep her entertained. These are wonderful and would recommend to anyone. We have never had one skip and the straps aren't an issue like I read in other reviews. We got the dual screens and actually have one screen in one car and the other in another car. To do this I had to purchase a cheap power cord. My only knock on this product is there is only one split cord and it's only about 6 feet long. I have an older car with only one cigarette outlet at the front of the car. I was able to purchase a 12 ft cord online which works much better in an older vehicle. The 6 ft cord worked but was very taunt and our 2 year old wanted to grab and yank on it. The 12 ft cord is nice we can wrap it under her car seat to keep it away from her

We bought these for a long road trip to keep my son entertained. The unit he used ran for probably most of the trip (about 17 hours), and had no problems. The sound is decent and the picture is great. They’re easy to install on the head rest mounts. I don’t recommend using the straps that go over the sides of the screen because it cuts off a good chunk of the viewable screen area on the sides. The straps that go through the back hold it up really well, so the other ones are really unnecessary anyway. The price is pretty reasonable, considering you get two independent units with the option of piggybacking to one. The only downside is they don’t have a remote, but it’s really not that big of a deal. Great units, love the size of the screens, so far they’ve held up great!

Bought for our daughter on car trips. Worked good for us, kept her entertained. The down side was the mount for the headrest didn't work very well with ours and the volume on it doesn't get very loud so I would recommend only to get it if you plan on using head phones with it. Changing the DVD was a pain had to pull it off the mount to change it out . But for short trip would be good.

Purchased this for my kids as a distraction during long car rides and they seem to enjoy it. Gives them the option to watch the same movie or individual movies. Picture is Great and it's simple plug and play & controls are easy for kids to use. Only downfall is the volume, not very loud when played without headphones; but fine with headphones plugged in.

Excellent player with a great picture. It kept the kids entertained from Chicago to Orlando. Easy for the kids to load and play discs by themselves. The only drawback is how it attaches to small headrests, but with some manuvering I made it work.

This DVD player has a great picture and great sound. Fairly easy to change discs. I love how both screens can show the same movie.
I don't like, however, how they fit on the headrests. Maybe my headrests are an odd shape or small, but the stupid straps kept slipping off. I was sitting in the passenger seat and if I barley moved or bumped the strap it would go flying. Every time I changed discs it would fall. The other issue is the cord connecting the two together is really short. I couldn't loop it far enough away from my 3 yr olds feet and he kept looping it around his shoe and unplugging his brother's screen. I realize these seem trivial but on long car rides it is quite frustrating.

We bought this for our daughters for Christmas in 2017, as we often visit family out of town. They work great. They are easy to use, and the girls love them. There were only a few things that we did not care for. First, it is not possible to change the disc when the player is in the headrest harness. You basically have to take it off of the seat, which is a huge hassle if a movie ends while we are on an expressway. (My daughters are not big enough to reach the players on their own). As expected, the sound quality is not that great, and they don’t go very loud either. I usually connect it to the auxiliary input in my car for better and louder sound. The only other other thing (and perhaps it is specific to my car), but the players don’t stay on my headrest very well. They are easy enough to attach, but it seems as though they began to fall only a few minutes after they are installed. Again, this might be because I have leather, but overall, I would recommend this product.

The players worked great....love that kids can watch the same or separate movies. We played the sound through our car stereo and had no issue. The cases that hold the players to the headrest are terrible. They don't seem to be designed to use with this specific player. You have to remove the entire player to change the DVD. One of our holders ripped so i had to use a safety pin to hold it together until we got home. The strap design makes it difficult to install. I will be purchasing another set of holders. I would recommend installing well in advance of a long trip!

Dual DVD players

Purchased this portable dual DVD player for my grandchildren's use while in the car. Let me start by saying that I have purchased approximately 5-6 of this same type of item over the last 6 years. I have shopped at numerous big box stores and have found that the quality of these ranges from "good" to "poor". I had to exchange this item after barely 30 days of use because one of the monitors would not work but the exchange was very simple. I encourage the purchase of a replacement plan for this type of item because I have found them to function from 1 month to 1 year without issues but have yet to purchase any that have not had issues. This particular DVD player has 2 screens that can be mounted with the included straps to the headrests in your car. 2 different movies can be viewed at the same time but the actual unit must be opened to change a movie-it does not have a slot to insert the dvd. The volume when turned all the way up is not disturbingly loud but one child may need to wear headphones (there are jacks on the units) to prevent distraction if two different movies are being viewed. I suspect these units (portable dvd players-not this brand in particular) are not built to take the abuse that daily driving (potholes, lurching stops, bumps, ect.) inflicts. That may have a great influence on the performance of the units. In overall comparison to other units that I have purchased this item appears solidly built, came out of the box with all of the items I needed to install and use it immediately, has a decent sized screen, and a good picture.

For the price, these two dvd player/screens worked great. My 10 year old and 4 year old can both work them. They easily attached to the head rests for our trip, didn't skip, and then worked great as a player hooked up to the tv at our hotel (had to purchase RC cords for the tv hookup).

I have a 4 year old and 8 year old that loves to watch movies in my van while traveling to their sports events and out of town. I bought this product because I bought a new van that didn't have a DVD player and didn't want to get one permanently installed so that it won't negate my warranty with the dealership. I bought my previous van with the DVD installed. While the quality of the picture and sound is great and I love that my kids can watch different things or the same thing on their separate screens, I hate all of the wires that go between the two DVD player units. It is a messy web of wires all over my van when I have the units out! Also my van headrests are very slim and won't hold the DVD player holder still when I drive and make turns. However the holder does safely secure the DVD player, which I like. The kids can hold them in their lap and watch it just fine though.
Also I don't like that the holes to connect the units for power and watching unit are both on the right side of the unit instead of having the holes for unit B on the left side so that it is closer to the unit A holes and less of a distance for the wires to cross to connect to each other.
I'm thinking of getting the headrest preinstalled units. Something tells me that they are worth double the price I paid for these

Great picture, nice size screen, easy for my 6,9, & 10 year old to work. Bought the splitter headphones jack so they can all wear headphones. Honestly it exceeded my expectations. You can't hear the disk spinning like most cheap portable dvd players. It was worth the extra money to pay for this model due to the option of playing two different movies, then there's less fighting. The one thing I do not agree with on other reviews is that everyone is gripping about the mounts that come with them and that you have to take them out to change the disk. Yes if you use all the strap you do. But if you simply just attach the back strap and tuck the other steps behind the dvd player it's plenty strong enough works just fine if you ask me. And you can't really tell that straps are tucked back there, so it doesn't make the appearance look bad. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and the kids think they're cool lol.

Bought this set up for our road trip from Chicago to New York. It worked great the whole 16 hours there and 17 hours back. Very easy to use and great screen size for all ages. It was annoying for my wife to have to un Velcro it every time to change the DVD, but it wasn't too bad. They worked great the whole time, and when we used one DVD and the cord there was no issue. Great buy!
