I read reviews for several DVD players before purchasing this one. I haven’t had any issues with it playing the disc, or skipping. I love that it starts from wherever it left off when I turn off the car. I also love that 2 different movies can be played from each screen. I have 2 minor complaints : the wires are a bit short so you can’t “hide” them between the seats so we had to buy longer cords so it wouldn’t look so messy. Also, the holder for the screen isn’t great. It cannot be adjusted. It can only basically be strapped on to the headrest and that’s the position it’s staying in. So for shorter kids it isn’t the best screen quality because they’re at a bad angle. Also had to buy new holders for the screens.

I bought this before going on a road trip with my 2 year old to entertain her. The DVD player itself works fine, but I have a 2015 Toyota Corolla and the player would NOT sit in the holder properly-which I spent more money to buy because it was supposed to sit on the headrest so she couldn’t touch it to start and stop the player. It kept falling off so she did end up holding it anyway so that was very disappointing. So depending on what you’re getting it for would depend on whether or not I would recommend purchasing the product.

It works as intended for DVDs only don't expect to play blu-ray movies on here. Pretty nifty that you can play the same movie on both screens or two separate movies on each one. They sit OK on the head rest strap but they will fall off if you don't put them in nice and snug. I don't like that you have to take the whole thing out of the strap in order to change the movie since usually I'm driving when my kids go to play something else. Overall not a bad purchase. They did hold up on a 10 hour football tournament drive with three 10 year olds in the backseat. (that should say it all). Also they include all the hook ups necessary to play in car or in your hotel room and you can even use them as DVD players for your home TV.

This DVD player has a great picture and great sound. Fairly easy to change discs. I love how both screens can show the same movie. I don't like, however, how they fit on the headrests. Maybe my headrests are an odd shape or small, but the stupid straps kept slipping off. I was sitting in the passenger seat and if I barley moved or bumped the strap it would go flying. Every time I changed discs it would fall. The other issue is the cord connecting the two together is really short. I couldn't loop it far enough away from my 3 yr olds feet and he kept looping it around his shoe and unplugging his brother's screen. I realize these seem trivial but on long car rides it is quite frustrating.

    Two Individual Reliable Systems

There are roughly only two things keeping this system from receiving 5 stars: 1. No remote controls 2. The mounting straps cover a small portion of the front which most likely slightly muffles the volume. *that being said, we didn't notice any real significant volume issues!...(but this has been a cause of complaint with online reviews.) After carefully reviewing people's comments on different systems, I've taken my chance on some purchases in the past with the hope that I wouldn't receive that "lemon"...that random DVD player that gets the one star rating. I've owned three different dual monitor dvd systems over the past 5 years for car travel and they ALL have failed miserably from: skipping/stalling on a smooth road to horribly cheaply made/designed head mounts to poor lighting and/or sound while watching. Things I love about this system: 1. Strong/secure head rest mounting 2. Two complete individual systems or link them as one! 3. Carrying case 4. No skipping, stalling, or freezing of movies on rough roads 5. Good lighting/picture/sound quality

We bought these DVD players to replace the free philips one we had gotten from a friend but unfortunately kept skipping when played. These are great since we have two children they each have their own screen. They can either watch the same movie or their own individual movies if they can’t agree. No skipping at all! Easy to install and use.

Great quality, but if you have kids it might not be the best choice because it consists of a lot of wires running everywhere.

If you don't mind lots of wires hanging and getting caught every time someone goes in or out of vehicle, it is a good product. We have had a good experience with the DVD players (especially considering the price and lack of available options). My only real issue is the fact that you have to unstrap the darn thing to change out the DVD, not easy for a kid strapped in a car seat. Very basic technology and picture quality but our 4 1/2 yr old (and my wife) dont mind

Bought these DVD players for our move from CA to NC. Love that you can play 2 different movies so that each child could watch what they wanted. Have had them for 2 months now and they are still working like the day we bought them. Would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for portable DVD players.

I purchased this portable DVD player for my car after buying and rebuying the RCA portable DVD Player that kept skipping after two weeks of usage. I decided to give the Insignia portable DVD player a try because it had great reviews. Unlike the poor quality RCA portable DVD player, the Insignia works exceptionally. It is aesthetically pleasing, there are two separate DVD players that operate independently, they come with headphones connection, they are easy to use, they come with a carrying case, they can be used as a DVD player that can be connected to a TV, they can be used as a stand alone portable DVD player in the car, hotel room etc.....most importantly .....THEY DO NOT SKIP.....As I mentioned above, I purchased them for my car. They come in handy when my family is taking long road trips. The DVD player keeps my 19 month old daughter happy during road trips as she’s able to watch her favorite cartoons and movies such as Sesame Street, Barney and Sing.

Buying this DVD player saved my sanity while driving 5 hours with my kids. It kept them happy and not fighting. I love that they can choose to watch the same movie or different movies. I only wish the volume could be louder since I had to either turn off the radio or have it set low and only front speakers for them to hear the movie. Next trip I may try different headphones without kid volume limits but it was also a problem if we used the speakers since road noise on the expressway is a problem.

I have a 4 year old and 8 year old that loves to watch movies in my van while traveling to their sports events and out of town. I bought this product because I bought a new van that didn't have a DVD player and didn't want to get one permanently installed so that it won't negate my warranty with the dealership. I bought my previous van with the DVD installed. While the quality of the picture and sound is great and I love that my kids can watch different things or the same thing on their separate screens, I hate all of the wires that go between the two DVD player units. It is a messy web of wires all over my van when I have the units out! Also my van headrests are very slim and won't hold the DVD player holder still when I drive and make turns. However the holder does safely secure the DVD player, which I like. The kids can hold them in their lap and watch it just fine though. Also I don't like that the holes to connect the units for power and watching unit are both on the right side of the unit instead of having the holes for unit B on the left side so that it is closer to the unit A holes and less of a distance for the wires to cross to connect to each other. I'm thinking of getting the headrest preinstalled units. Something tells me that they are worth double the price I paid for these

Great picture, nice size screen, easy for my 6,9, & 10 year old to work. Bought the splitter headphones jack so they can all wear headphones. Honestly it exceeded my expectations. You can't hear the disk spinning like most cheap portable dvd players. It was worth the extra money to pay for this model due to the option of playing two different movies, then there's less fighting. The one thing I do not agree with on other reviews is that everyone is gripping about the mounts that come with them and that you have to take them out to change the disk. Yes if you use all the strap you do. But if you simply just attach the back strap and tuck the other steps behind the dvd player it's plenty strong enough works just fine if you ask me. And you can't really tell that straps are tucked back there, so it doesn't make the appearance look bad. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and the kids think they're cool lol.

These are perfect for the price and because you can either play the same DVD in both or two different DVDs. As always, the attachment for the head rest is just OK, but if you can get past that, the DVD quality is excellent and we use it everyday.

Our previous car had a built in DVD player we used on road trips. This seemed like the easiest way to duplicate the experience for the kids. Perfect for use a few times a year on long road trips. The mess of wires to have it all hooked up prevent it from being something you'd want to leave hooked up at all times. We've used it on multiple trips from Pennsylvania to Myrtle Beach and it keeps the kids busy. It does NOT play Blu Ray, so make sure you're buying regular DVDs if you're planning to use them in here. That can be a challenge with new releases.
