I really wanted to like this cable. The length was what I was looking for and allows me to charge the dualsense and use it at the same time at a far enough distance away from the tv. It also matched the colors of the ps5, made specifically for the ps5 and comes with a cable tie as a bonus. But there was barely any audible and tactile locking click after plugging in the usb type c end to the dualsense controller. That wouldn't be so bad if it didn't stop charging after a few minutes of gaming, but because it wouldn't lock/connect securely in like the shorter charging cable that came with the ps5, it would constantly loosen by itself overtime and come out just far enough (.5mm) to not charge after minimal movement. I would have to readjust or reinsert the cable after every couple minutes of gameplay or press the ps button to verify on screen if it was charging still. Just to see if perhaps it was my controller's type c port causing the unsecured connection and not the cable, I tested the cable on my tablet and phone and found the same result. I saw a lot of good reviews, maybe I unfortunately just got a bad one that won't stay plugged in. And if it won't stay plugged in and charge that essentially beats the purpose of this charge cable. One would have to stay as still as a statue while playing to make sure it stays charging and remains connected. I would not recommend trying to update the controller's firmware with this cable as it may unplug easily while updating and I guess possibly brick the controller if that's even possible. And if I recall correctly, the updating screen said "do not unplug" and a loose cable connection can do just that. In addition to that issue, I found due to the thicker cable size, it was weighing down the front end of the controller. The added weight wasn't a worry for me as much as the strain over long periods the cable may exert on the type c port on the dualsense controller vs. a thinner cable like the one that came with the ps5. I noticed the angle of the type-c port slightly angle downwards a couple degrees after I plugged in the cable due to the thicker cable slightly increasing the cable weight compared to the original cable that came with the ps5. These controllers aren't cheap so I rather go without the undue strain on the port to preserve the longevity of it as much as possible. So due to the fact it doesn't charge more than a couple minutes while gaming from the cable falling out, I'm going back to the original shorter cable for now and this one's going in the drawer as a backup backup. Maybe I'll give the next iteration of this cable another shot if they fix these short comings. And, or possibly even add back what the ps4 version of this cable had like a blue led indicator in the cable to indicate it's charging and the cable braided for extra durability. It seems like a slight downgrade from Insignia's previous generation charge cable for the ps4. I'm sure though if you just intend to use it to connect to the ps5 and charge in sleep mode it should be fine as long as no one slightly jostles it or the controller. For my use case, I just intended to use it as a the name of the product suggests, a "play and charge cable."

This cable works perfectly and charges my PS5 controller as expected. The 9 feet are a definite upgrade to the short, 3 foot cable that the PS5 comes with. Easily recommended for Playing while charging. I've had it for over 2 weeks and no problems so far.

The store was out of the USB-C cables for phone charging. So, I got this at the suggestion of the Best Buy employee. This works as good if not better than any USB-C phone cable I've ever had. Great suggestion. The nine foot length is very useful for putting a phone charger in the couch, for example.
